I’ll see if that weather is “hot” or chilly to when I go there in the summer from Tucson AZ (which is an inferno in comparison)

I was in St George over July 4th weekend. Was also there last year in December. I would love to live there. Just beautiful and so much to do outdoors. Black Desert Resort golf is a must.

I have lived here for the past 10 years. It is getting pretty insane. They keep building like crazy in the barren desert. RE "luxury" speculators and vacation playground fortune seekers under every rock. There are not enough services. Not enough food stores. Wheels dependent everywhere you go. The roads are getting very crowded. Basically, St. Geo has doubled in size since 2014, but the other infrastructure is about the same. I am looking for a better place.

For whoever is confused (probably not much people) the kids in this comment section are making reference to a 2014 video game called “five nights at freddy’s” which is a game where you survive from possessed mascots for 5 nights in a fictional restaurant that is located in hurricane Utah which is why everybody is making references to that game in this comment section

St George used to be a quaint place to live with a small town feel and pioneer heritage. Now, however, it's just an overcrowded traffic jam, 24/7. Wages are slave rates across the board, as labor unions don't exist. Real-estate is prohibitivly expensive (thanks to California expats). The weather, however, is the best in all of Utah and the night sky is simply enchanting. Proximity to five National parks is a gift from God, with Zion NP being at the top of my list. Water supplies will always be an issue I fear, and is surely restricting new construction. There are quite a few "Mormons," but they don't bite. I suggest living in one of many outlying communities. Did I mention the red rocks, imposimg cliff faces and snow-capped mountain? Brian Head ski resort is within easy reach.

Cons: this place hasn’t figured out that endless suburban sprawl is unsustainable. Local politics is ridiculous with a focus on building highways everywhere and plowing over open space. They practice strip mine development, as if every hill and mesa is a nuisance that gets in the way of houses. Eventually the taxes are going to go crazy to pay to sustain all the infrastructure once they can’t use new development to pay for it anymore and to pay for the water that’s going to be spread thin. Pros: pretty scenery, but again taken for granted since no one seems to want to preserve any views.

I just moved from there at the end of June. I still couldn't afford a home there even after selling my vegas house. When prices are still $250-300 per square foot, it is unbelievable. And you hardly get a decent lot size. Out here in Texas, you can get a comparable home on 1/2 to 1 acre for the same price as something out there with no land. My rental I was in out there was a 2 bed 2 bath, 1200 Sq ft town house in hurricane, and it could be listed and sold for probably $325k. And St George is decently pricier than Hurricane, depending on which part of hurricane. Oh, and there is no backyard. There's just a vinyl fence piece between you and the neighbor on the back side. No thank you.

There are no cons. None. You can get to GCNP Zion Bryce SOCAL. AZ Strip. Vegas gets you anywhere. 6 hours from Whitney. I went to class at Dixie State. 9 people were carrying guns, in class. I am from TN/KY. Awesome. As for Mormons my coworker was railing on them, I said I never had a Mormon do me wrong. The other coworker who was a Bishop at a Stake said that's because you ain't lived out here yet.😅😂 Mesquite is right through Canyon. Fun if the wind isn't blowing 50mph. Golf. Ridge and Snow Canyon are awesome to walk bike. Shows bars VEGAS. Take big SUV designated driver. Parkings free. NYNY. Park there. Walk over to MGM up to Harrahs. Bam.

Las Vegas is the most LDS town ever (LDS founded, LDS financed and LDS built). I was born and raised in Catholic in Las Vegas. Never had an issue with any LDS member or practice. In fact, the friends I came to identify with most closely in school years, business career and retirement ... disproportionately LDS. Definitely an overrated issue.

Well, I been considering relocating there and was watching your videos. I have visited there previously. My question and maybe I missed your video on your KZbin channel. What is the job market out there. I try indeed to look for things, but nothing much comes out. I am from Midwest Peoria, IL area. Is there other things your aware of maybe with helping others move there and spouse or partner looking for work with there move. Can you suggest anything to consider, like headhunters or temp agencies. I know you may not know but no harm in asking right.

I'm from Indiana and will be in St. George next week (July12-July21), the highs there are blowing my mind and I'm not sure how I'm going to adjust to it. Can you give any advice from going from Midwest weather to st. George weather or environment? Like I've heard it's really dry heat which makes it tolerable but yeah I'm just feeling as if I chose the wrong month to visit:/ wanting to knock a few national parks of the list but seeing this heat I'm not too sure how it'll go

People do get used to it. Drink plenty of water and maybe consider getting some electrolytes at Natural Grocers and adding those to your water, or you can also add lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and a small amount of sugar to your water. Yes, it's seriously hot!
