I tried to seek therapy last year to deal with my low self-esteem. I went through Acceptance Commitment Therapy. Understand that I don't need to and can't let anxiety leave my brain, but I can stop letting it determine who I am as a person. This requires some awareness and understanding of presence to practice. I am grateful that I took this step for myself. This movie is like a condensation of my therapy notes, very touching

You are so natural on camera ! But question - once you switch off the struggle switch, what do you do then to mediate the "bad feeling" ? If it's internal, then can try to let it float.. but if it's caused by external factor, then what ?

Thanks for the question and your patience for me to reply. Turning the struggle switch off is what you're doing to mediate the feeling. In essence you're changing your reaction to the feeling and may not even label it as "bad." It becomes a feeling that you experience and are open to experiencing without the struggle. This isn't about getting rid of "bad" feelings, but rather making sure we don't make matters worse by amplifying things with the struggle. Also, feelings are always internal even though they may be a reaction to something external. So the same would apply. If the reason for your feeling turns out to be external and dangerous say, then we have to take action to move to safety for example. But feelings are always internal and hence we are in control of our reaction to them. Hope that all makes sense. :)
