Hi Ana, Tarrannum this side! Really loved your video as I myself is a first year English Literature student here in India. This video was all inspiring and lovely I must say! Btw I wanted to ask you a question that I as a Lit. student have a dream of studying in either Oxford or Cambridge (who doesn't right!?) , So im thinking for applying into both for my masters in the future so as that has been said i need to be really into my undergrad degree and study hard(P.S if you got any tips for me as im a new uni plus Lit. student then plz do tell me sis❤) and try to get in either of it. But uk what besides studying i got a dream of entering into the film industry, as acting is my passion so im lil bit skeptical that should i do my masters in English or in Film studies! Ik for being an actor u need skills n not a specific degree but coming to UK will help me as a student and as a person whose passionate to have a name in the entertainment industry....if u r getting my point then plz do tell me that coming to UK will be a wise decision or not for me ?

congrats on your graduation! yeah the deferred results is not the most ideal situation. I'll be getting mine in september. I have found the queer community here very open and communal! And with things like the Queer Get Down club night and also the lgbtqia+ weekly club night at Vinyl and things like drag shows on at the theatre regularly that there are lots of opportunities for pride and also to meet lots of other queer people! Hope that helps

For pursuing postgraduate under English literature which university between Oxford and Cambridge is the best like the overall best?

So I actually applied to both and got offers from both but no funding sadly! So you’re much less likely to get funding from oxbridge than for other unis for postgrad, especially with humanities. In terms of which is better it entirely depends on the course you’re doing, what you’re specialising in and who you want to supervise your dissertation- I would do some research into these areas and make an informed decision that way. Hope that helps! Also, if you’re overall only interested in rankings regarding the ‘best’ uni (which is actually very subjective, I think) I would look at university ranking lists done by places like ‘Which?’ and ‘the complete university guide’ - some of these guides also have lists that rank unis specifically by subject :)

Yep! One is required and the other swaps out an exam paper. My Director of Studies recommended I do two, but personally I wouldn’t recommend it! It was too much!

Hey! So in terms of extra/super curricular I was head girl at my school, did volunteering at my local library, did essay and writing prize competitions, went to a couple master classes (Cambridge have them! And there are also online lectures/talks/events from loads of unis and museums and things!). In terms of other extra curricula’s I did performing arts and had a couple jobs including tutoring and waitressing :) I hope this helps!
