Sounds like a lot of sour grapes. His stock has gone down, theirs has gone up. Now he has a special to promote. He's realizing he had his moment, that his schtick has jumped the shark, and has nothing else left. After all, he was a one trick pony. And weirdly shitting on Matt Rife, for why? But if he thinks he can make his money off the liberal tears that have been shed this month, let's just see how that works out.
@BlindMikeProject22 минут бұрын
I actually like Anthony's stand up but the timing did feel opportunistic
@bobbola310 минут бұрын
@@BlindMikeProject His standup isn't bad. He's a great joke writer and has his stage presence down. But he has a format, and his material is pretty narrow. The pony's one trick is pretty good. That's also why this whole turn feels awkward; it's not his lane, not his genre of premises. The bitterness makes his regular standup routine more real, and given his material, that's not particularly a good thing.
@danielhudson51862 сағат бұрын
Said it before, but I could listen to Jeselnik shit on Rogan and his coattail riders, all day. In fact AJs newest special has a great joke that is the perfect summation of that whole group.

I think the podcast in question with the "shitting your pants" might be cumtown, because Adam ruined Nick's graciously provided camping chair as well as his white linen pants. I'd like to believe I'm wrong, and I certainly could be, but his comments were too on-the-nose.
@stephenrose455813 сағат бұрын
I think that’s exactly who he is talking about. But CumTown is definitely not who he should have a problem with. Nick, Adam, and Stav have nothing to do with Rogan, all three are at least decent stand ups, they put in time doing open mics and the typical stand up stuff, and they started CT like 8 years ago and built a huge crazy following while being totally obscure and out of the mainstream. It’s honestly pretty remarkable. No one has been able to replicate it
@Ghostxyz313 сағат бұрын
@@stephenrose4558 Exactly. The cumboys are funny and hardly ever take anything seriously when they are doing something funny. Their chat, reminiscent of a middle school lunch table, is just comedy. And $100k/mo just from fan donations shows how much us civilians like it. CT was a flickering light in the midst of a dark cave.

Politicians and comedians should not mix. If comedians want to be seen as “truthtellers” or “of the people”, they should not be bedfellows with the most dishonest and powerful people in the world. Left, right, center, it don’t matter, if you’re cool with billionaires and politicians, you’ve lost all credibility and relatability in my book

Joe Rogan didn’t ruin comedy he just made more people aware of other comedians Those comedians became rich and successful, which made them lazy. Success is responsible for the making comedy worse, just look at Tom Segura

@frizle5520 сағат бұрын
@@BlindMikeProject give what a shot. You already missed the point....but i'll try his point is tim dillon and rogan are podcasters because their comedy is hack. His point is if you want to get a big podcast following tell hack racist and trans jokes and cry about woke comedy to rogan and then you have the following. If you're just talking to an echo chamber with red meat you're not a comedian. .the problem, as he points out, is their jokes suck. Their podcasting is find, but their comedy isn't...there's there the difference. I think he's setting the standard for comedy..not podcasting. And his point is anti woke comedy is literally unfunny..but it's red meat for you and rogan's audience so you don't have to tell funny jokes to gain that following..you just need to tell hack trans and racial jokes.. I personally can't believe this is considered good comedy..but one of hinchliffes jokes was about black people carving watermelons for halloween. Does that take any comedy skill? That is AJ's point...and I think most of it flies over your heads..as probably the joke he made about trans in his special..."imagine if I made a trans person laugh..that would be revolutionary" Have you watched elephant graveyards video on rogan's stand up? He's a podcaster..not a comedian

Taking on a political identity and basing everything around it is the antithesis of "free thinking" and "edgy", and ultimately it's an excuse to blame other people for your shortcomings. If you want to be the guy whose fans like you and cheer because you agree with them and you regurgitate the same shit over and over again, then be that guy. And if you don't realize you're being that guy, then it's pathetic.
