I used an archery arrow and found one just under .346” and wrapped scotch tape around the shaft in two places until the arrow fit snug but not too tight and it worked great. Bought the arrow at Academy and it was cheap.

Ive got an ar10 in 308 with a hybrid 46m. Im using the asr mount and the muzzle device uses the shim kit it came with but i noticed the shim is crushed and is coming over the shoulder of the barrel. I used the rod you suggested and it isn't touching but its definitely not perfectly centered. My question is is it possible the shim is causing this to not be aligned better?

I'm new to the can game. I just got my first one out of jail (2 day wait!). Thanks for the suggestion on the bore alignment. I ordered 5 rods, it was about $5o including shpping and got them in 2 days. I test fit them and everything seems great.

This is great and all but not everyone has a grinder or know how to use one to round off the end like you did. Also, would have been nice to know what exactly you used to cut the 3ft lengths of rod in half.
@kruiser50044 ай бұрын
Hacksaw or a Dremel will work, to cut and to chamfer the ends a Dremel can be used, or if you have a lot of patience a file.

I just ordered a lower for my A1 from A3 Tactical, and I was wondering how you removed the rear take down pin since it's a captured pin without damaging the weapon, I'm assuming cant use the rear pin that came with the weapon since you're replacing it. Also, does the front pin come out fairly easy, and does it come out the right side of the weapon

Never cease to amaze me that people will spend 1500 for a suppressor with the tax stamp. 8 months waiting for atf approval then cheap out on the alignment rod. Buy the precession Surefire alignment rod for your suppressor caliber. Don’t listen to this guy and risk a baffle strike over 100 dollars. You can find them at optics planet.

From a practical stand point, you really want the empty magazine to drop free when the bolt locks back on the empty magazine, and not the other way around when the bolt is forward. I wonder if the bolt contacting the magazine follower is exerting pressure on it to prevent it from dropping free.

On how to do: it is more instructive to have the camera visually showing what you are doing. Comments like I push on ... and it comes right off are not so good.

I guess this video ok for garage gunsmiths but not exactly good advice! Reason bore rods expensive due to top level CNC procedures uniform tolerances from end to end on high grade materials cost considerably more than what McMaster - Carr offers! Expensive bore rods have excellent quality control measures you’re not going to find with cheap rods designed for other purposes! Top level CNC machining of high grade materials guarantees precision and durability for accurately measuring clearances with wire filler gauges, thickness shim gauges, micrometers, and calibers! Rolling McMaster - Carr rods across table top to gauge uniform concentric is ridiculous advice use for identifying bore center alignments for suppressor use! “Two different size rods for 9mm”, Really? Yes I did. No engraving, you can adopt the information on the gun for the Form1. Also these guns aren't serialized on the lowers.

@@roul3688 No, I'm using the lower because it gives me more options like trigger and grip. Also 922r is completely irrelevant for these guns.

The crappy part about replacing the lower is how much you spend when it's all said and done. The lower, drop in trigger, safety, grip and new set of magazines. Then the gun cost will be around 1,500 plus dollars....or more

Yeah... But IF lrbo works and all the features it's still cheaper than most of the other competitors

Firstly, I have the SP9 A3 standard edition, FYI. Shockingly, that ammo magazine spec sheet (with photos shown in this video) was not provided to me when I received my A3 lower. It would have been helpful. This narrative Is a story of Failure to Feed:. I purchased multiple CZ mags and they were a complete failure. Do not buy them! I also purchased a PSA AKV mag. Do not buy that! Again, a total failure. I am waiting for a Magpul PMag. Second, If you installed the HBI Short-stroke buffer beforehand, which I did, take it out and reinstall the factory buffer. I got that little tidbit from A3 after the fact. What else? Boy, am I disappointed at this point. I've reinstalled the HBI buffer, again, and reattached the factory lower. I took the gun up to the range today and was ecstatic when everything, including the GP curved mags, worked perfectly. FINALLY! To be fair, A3 Tactical has offered to have me ship their receiver back to them for evaluation, which I will do. However, as I am not a 'run and gun' competitive shooter I am, quite frankly, considering just cannibalizing the A3 lower for parts and eating $ the rest. I love the Stribog, but at some point, I've learned, "you gotta know when to fold them".

.2031" - P/N 8890K185 - Good general purpose rod for 22 caliber suppressor alignment. This should work well for distinctly undersized match .22LR bores (think CZ452/455 at .210-.212" bore diameter & target ARs) but otherwise may be a slightly loose fit. .212" - P/N 8890K189 - BEST FIT for many standard, tight 22 caliber bores (.22LR at .217" bore diameter, .223/5.56 at .219" bore diameter, etc). Good fit for PSA AR & Ruger MKIII. .2187" - P/N 8890K191 - Alternative for older, loose 2.23 / 5.56 bores. This might be too tight if barrel is dirty. Close to Geissele rod at .2175". .234" - P/N 8890K195 - Alternative for tight, undersized, match 6mm ARC bores. .2343 - P/N 8890K207 - BEST FIT for many standard 6mm ARC bores. .250" - P/N 8890k213 - BEST FIT for 6.5mm Creedmoor/Grendel bores (.256" bore diameter). .250" - P/N 8888K361 - Alternative if above is out of stock, uses A2 Tool Steel instead of W2. Same dimensions and tolerances. Hardness rating increased from Medium/Rockwell B95 to Hard/Rockwell B104. .295" - P/N 8890K227 - BEST FIT for tight 7.62x39, .308, 300BLK and most Western 30 caliber bores (.300" bore diameter). Good fit for CZ 527. .2968" - P/N 8890K228 - Alternative for oversized, loose .300 blk/ .308 bores. Tiny, tiny bit of play. Too tight to fit CZ 527. This is also nearly identical to the diameter of the Geissele rod at .297". .339" - P/N 8890K239 - BEST FIT for tight 9mm bores (.346" diameter). .3437" - P/N 8890K241 - Alternative for loose 9mm bores. Perfect for Scorpion & CZ-75. Little bit of play in Uzi & G19. .4218" - P/N 8890K259 - Alternative for loose fit for .45 ACP bores (.442" diameter). Too much play in DW 1911. .4375" - P/N 8890K262 - BEST FIT for tight .45 ACP bores. May generally work but could be too tight for rare cases. Perfect for DW 1911
