I've got this gun in .54 cal. It shoots patched balls so well I never bothered to try bullets. My hunting load is 100gr Pyrodex and it is awesome: kills out front, cripples in back! I've never lost a deer---it puts them down like a 30-06. I've also never recovered a ball. Every one has exited regardless of the angle. Cheap, beautiful, and functional hunting gun from Cabela's.

idk why all these derringer videos have shooters trying to hit anything further than an arms length away. These aren't rifles people, this is a cross draw car seat gun. A walk home from the bus stop gun. A visiting family in a questionable neighborhood gun. Not a clay pigeon game hunter.

I purchased my Apache 77 (green) from K-Mart back in 1978, and paid $79.99. I used the order form to order 5 more mags and sling swivels from the manufacturer. I taped 2 mags together like we did in Vietnam, so I have 3 sets of 2 taped together and I can shoot 60 times without reloading. I also use a hasty sling to shoot like I learned in the USMC. My little green rifle is very accurate with iron sights and I've killed a couple of ground hogs recently using it. Remington only made 54,000 of the Apache 77's. Cheers from eastern TN

What a difference! Pro tip: your eye pro. Works a lot better on your nose 😅. Also can't tell if your wearing ear plugs but please do. 22lr (atleast the standard velocity +) will cause hearing damage over time. Growing up in rural south me and my friends would hunt all the time with our 22 rifles with whatever ammo we could afford (mostly high velocity) thoes 10s of thousands of round in my childhood caught up to me and coupled with 10 years in a industrial environment career where loud machines further caused it, I wished I did something about it. Be a role model for thoes watching and plug them ears and wear them glasses!

It’s quite cool, but you have to spend time initially to load in to that pen. Secondly it helps only when in field shooting, otherwise pellet count is small. For sure it protects skirts. I thought about using it with magazine but at the end it would be even slower but for break barrel and single load it’s quite useful.

@@rifleman17hmrshooter I'm right now working on automatic pellet orientator (or what can it be called?) that could face pellet in the right direction straight of the container and lead it to the tube. For sure it will be suited for certain pellet size and brand. I'll see what can be done :) I wonder if anyone has done something similar.

In 1953, the Single Six was one of the most affordable .22 revolvers on the market, costing $57.50. It allowed people who couldn’t afford a Colt to have a good revolver. Today, the Wrangler is one of the most affordable .22 revolvers retailing around $200. Comparatively speaking, it’s a valid comparison. Perhaps your definition of fair is different…

The stocks on these have not aged well. The Nylon-66 (the plastic the gun is made of) degrades with time and dehydration, and considering these rifles haven’t been made for 40 years, it’s only a matter of time before cracks are inevitable. These should be considered very fragile and should not be fired. They should be collected and preserved for future collections.
