Eren's biggest weakness was that he was obsessing over the past and the future. That was made obvious when he used the Founding Titan's power. He never enjoyed life or looked for happiness. He only obsessed over what he couldn't change. Armin wanted to avoid fighting if it was an option and even focused on miniscule moments of happiness from his life. Like racing Eren and Mikasa to the tree. Armin said how he wanted to explore the world but he didn't obsess over his dreams he kept them in mind but still lived in the moment. At the beach Armin was just happy to find a seashell because it was something new but Eren was always looking to the Horizon and obsessing on the future or punishing himself for something he himself did or failed to do.

With so many great moments, characters, and themes in this show, I find myself baffled that the 2 most impactful and memorable lines to me come from two characters and minor as Kenny and Sasha's dad "Everyone's drunk on somethin'." I wish more ppl would include the scene where eren severs his leg and gouges out his eye in that trench. To me, no scene is a greater representation of the true depths eren was willing to go to to achieve "freedom". Great vid tho
