My guess is that it depends on how much actually drains out. there are alot of channels in a trans. I have a couple of Transmissions from a 70's BMW that have been drained for years now, and every time I have to move one there is a small puddle under it from the relief valve

@mreinsmith3 ай бұрын
I believe it's the same cable for both, but that doesn't mean a new cable wouldn't fix it so before you buy a new cable make sure it's fully inserted on both ends Also make sure nothing is burnt or melted on the board

Just came across this. I have inherited a juice-o-mat and began using it every second day to squeeze lemons. I love the look and utility. I am concerned about what it is made of - can’t seem to confirm, is it cast aluminum? Is there harmful lead content if using regularly? Mine looks a lot like yours - you can see some ‘wear and tear’, particularly in the corners of the “cup”. The 3 parts that come in contact with the fruit/juice can be removed to clean (including unscrewing the top “claw” squeezer) but what would be the best product to clean and protect. I use a paste of natural honey and coconut oil to clean/preserve wood and leather - so looking for a similar food grade diy cleaner. Thoughts!!
@mreinsmith3 ай бұрын
As far as I know it's cast aluminum and the question of lead in the enamel or in the aluminum is a matter of debate. However, if you consider when it was made...? As far as a food grade cleaner I would suggest looking up a restaurant supply on the web just to see what they offer

hello, I know the video is old but I hope you can answer me, I have the same bike, a Kawasaki LTD 454, I see that you don’t have the original radiator and you put in a Honda Shadow one, and my question is precisely if you adapted it because the original radiator didn’t cool the engine and the other question is if that radiator cooled you or if it cooled well with the Shadow one. Because my original Kawasaki one, I honestly don’t know if it’s clogged or what, but it doesn’t cool me well and I’ve seen some videos where the factory radiator doesn’t cool this type of engine because it’s too small, is what they say true? I honestly don’t know if I should adapt one of those Shadow ones that you have.
@mreinsmith3 ай бұрын
I removed the shadow radiator because the shadow radiator has larger water channels Which is the reason people "think" are better Imagine you have a large hose going into a small hose (the radiator to the engine) the pressure in the smaller hose increases. This can cause gaskets and Seals to prematurely wear. But the real problem is going back to the radiator. Now you have a small hose going into a large one which causes "cavitation". Essentially air in the water causing the water to foam up (a little more complicated than that, but that's a good visual) Air in the radiator reduces its effectiveness I could go on, but the bottom line is that this ends up causing a whole other set of problems I loved this bike but it's just an issue they've always had What you need to do is focus on cleaning the radiator properly and Pressure test it for leaks. MORE importantly you need to get the water channels in the engine clean and make sure the water pump is working properly. Once you do that you will see a vast improvement Watch for any gasket issues like the head gasket starting to fail. I know it sounds like a lot, but it's not that hard. Get yourself a manual and start watching videos on each step You'll be glad you did. Good luck
@mreinsmith3 ай бұрын
One more thing to spin your head, if you clean the original radiator without cleaning the water channels in the engine you end up with the same problem. Large volume coming into smaller channels and back out again.
@mtejadamartinez78713 ай бұрын
I understand, thanks for answering it was faster than I expected, I had homework to do that, clean the radiator and all the channels under pressure, so that everything in theory is flowing well and there are no obstructions, however if it continues to heat up I would choose to adapt a shadow vt500 since my friend has one of that and it is bigger and the fan too and it works excellent for him, the engine does not heat up at all or I would opt for a vt700 like the one you put, but I would like you to tell me if in the end that Honda vt700 radiator worked well for you on your Kawasaki, did it never overheat?

That's what I'm trying to tell you, the Honda radiator did not solve the problem. I bought it with that radiator and immediately replaced it with an original. Long term the Honda radiator will further damage the engine

Let me know if you have any questions. I only had a little space and limited options where to mount the cylinders The more flexibility you have the better It will hold more weight and you can balance the pull down force you need You could also install some sort of prop that holds it down while you load it All things I couldn't do because of what I had available to me

Video was very informative. There is an associated salt container. Do you just normally add salt in there? Is there a recommendation for the salt?
@mreinsmith5 ай бұрын
Yes the container (sometimes called a hopper) should have a lid on it that is easily opened Fill it near to the top (or the fill mark if it has one) The salt I use is "Diamond Crystal" brand I have a well and my water is not only acidic but has iron in it which is very common So I use the "Iron Fighter" version of this salt

When I bought the bike it had the radiator from a Honda shadow (if I remember correctly) It worked terribly and was overheating on longer rides So I bought an original radiator for a 454. There were modifications they had made to flit the Honda radiator and I had to restore some things to get it back to stock One of the mounting brackets on the frame in particular The Honda radiator might have worked better if they had compensated for the thermostat and Coolant connection sizes So if you want to do something like that, those are 2 important things to check because the Coolant will get turbulance when flowing and the ability to cool will be affected Like connecting a small water hose to a bigger hose, you lose pressure and cause turbulance in the water

But what you're forgetting to tell everybody while you're changing that I act or IA c or idle valve control is that you have to measure your old part with the new part?So that when you do fire, the vehicle up, it doesn't race away.Trying to suck in air that it thinks that it's missing.So you're not being totally honest with everybody when you go to put the new part in
@mreinsmith6 ай бұрын
That's a good point, but I wasn't aware of that. That's the exact reason why I recommend using OEM parts. NOT a matter of honesty!
