This is perfect and just what I was searching for. The frame on my tractor (where the transaxle mounts to) cracked. Before replacing the frame I want to understand why it cracked. I don’t know if it is because there is too much tension from one of the control levers or the drive belt pulling the transaxle forward too much, or if the frame just wore out over time ( perhaps something inside the transaxle has metal shavings and is making it too hard to drive the tires). If something is pulling the trans too far forward then I need to fix that first. Your video will allow me to test if things spin freely with no load.

What tractor do you have? There are some that have known issues with the mounts on the frame, one example is some of the John Deere L series Tractors

The last comment made me think I should have mentioned putting a automotive stethoscope (or a piece of 2x4} on it to listen for misses or grinding, you can usually hear it without those, but it's still a good thing to do

Why would you take the trans out to test it? Wouldn’t it being on the tractor running tell you if it’s working or not?🤔 You could do this test and have a bad trans pass because it’s not under any real load. If the trans is on the tractor, a good trans will turn the tries over when up against a tree. This test proves really nothing. JFYI.

In my case it was in preparation for replacing a bad transmission. Before I put it in I thought I would put it through a quick test Plus, if you are doing a test in the tractor you can get a clear idea of what you'll be looking for "under the hood" so to speak

So I changed the title and Description a bit to make it more clear, let me know what you think
