@@how2blowup yeah you can sample while the beats playing, but its not like a live looper. You’ll still have to place your sample on the sequencer after it’s recorded. The sampler automatically gets rid of silence at the start of a sample, so if you were playing along something that comes in late you’d just have to drop it in the right place. You can nudge each step left and right as it’s playing to fine tune the timing. You can also resample whatever the xy is playing.

Thanks man, it’s a chopped break with some of the stock xy drum samples layered on top. Plus the compressor on the master really pumps the drums.

Yeah, each key can be individually set to one shot, hold, loop or cut off. These are set to cut off. So it is a mute group, but it’s just one group per track, which is enough for me.

Yeah, it’s easy enough. You go along the keys and select the sample each time ( 2 knob twists, 2 seconds), then adjust each one with 2 knobs to set start and end points. I made 6 chops here in about a minute. Not a chore, enjoyed the process! The good thing is every chop is independent, so if you adjust the start of one it doesn’t affect the end of the one before it etc…

The great thing about the Digitakt is that you can make great beats very simply. You can then learn little tricks and techniques and gradually sprinkle them in. I’ve been making beats for over 20 years and the Digitakt workflow clicked with me quicker than anything else I’ve ever used. The Elektron sequencer is amazing.

I’m not sure about in song mode, but when you’re live recording using the hold record then press play, anything you mess with is recorded. I’ve never done it but maybe you can start your song playing , then hold record and play and try messing with stuff to see if it gets baked in. Make sure you save a backup in case you ruin it! Let me know if it works, I’m gonna try it myself 👍🏼

Yeah, I actually have the Ko ii output going into the SP, then out into the MPC, then record the output from the MPC. This beat is 100% Ko ii though, no FX added.
