Sampled Hip Hop Beat on the Teenage Engineering OP-XY 🔈🔉🔊🎧🔘🔘🔘🔘

Recently got the OP-XY and I bloody love it! The sequencer is nearly as awesome as Elektron, but the thing is tiny.
I used to have an OP-1 Field and while I loved it, I found it hard to make anything I liked on it. This OP-XY step sequencing workflow is exactly what I wanted and it handles samples great. I can then add some flourishes with some of the synth engines.
I’ll be trying to figure out the song mode next (it looks simple).

Thanks man, it’s a chopped break with some of the stock xy drum samples layered on top. Plus the compressor on the master really pumps the drums.

Can you record a sample in time while the beat is still playing in the loop?

@@how2blowup yeah you can sample while the beats playing, but its not like a live looper. You’ll still have to place your sample on the sequencer after it’s recorded. The sampler automatically gets rid of silence at the start of a sample, so if you were playing along something that comes in late you’d just have to drop it in the right place. You can nudge each step left and right as it’s playing to fine tune the timing. You can also resample whatever the xy is playing.
