These look awesome! I ordered the veteran German starter army. I’m hoping it ships soon. I’m getting impatient. 😂

German pioneers benefit for the ability to have a squad of up to 10 men and 7 smgs. American engineers up to 8 men and only 2 smgs total. Russians get up to 11 men, all can have smgs and body armor and 2 panzerfaust!! If only there were more Metal German pioneers…sigh.

@SAVATRON8422 сағат бұрын
Wait…. Do they have panzerfausts in the new kit?
@tabletopcp16 сағат бұрын
No. I took those from the grenadier kit so I would have the option to add them to a pioneer squad.

You guys are doing great with these battle reports..mistakes are made, but it happens..like the cover save at point blank that others mentioned..my only comment is that at 33:30 ish when the captains track was hit and it caught on fire...the captain would have had to bail and receive a down order (pg 147 right column -immobilized and on fire = dismount)
@tabletopcp2 күн бұрын
Good spot. It helps us with future games. I don’t think we will forget the no sown bonus for being down at point blank any note

Great video and creative, thematic lists. How did you do the flame effect on the Pioneers? Is it 3D-printed?
@tabletopcp3 күн бұрын
I am not sure how he did it. That was Ryan’s mini. I think it was not a 3d print. More home made.

I've been saying for a while that i wished Warlord would produce a support weapons sprue, this is basically it. Only thing missing is a medium mortar but you can buy a plastic one of that separately anyway.

Another exciting game of Sharp Practice. Glad to see the cavalry proving to be effective today lol. Hmm. For suggestion. If you want an interesting scenario featuring artillery such as cannons. I recommend a scenario based around attacking a gun battery. Essentially the story is your force of lads (usually I’ll do it with 2-3 large groups of 3 base infantry alongside a couple skirmisher groups) have been tasked at dealing with a enemy artillery position that’s bombarding your lines. On the defender side you have the artillery battery of 2-4 cannons with crew, alongside usually 1 group of 2-3 bases of line infantry and 2 skirmisher groups. The attacker objective is to cross the fields while trying to struggle through the artillery and then assault them. The defender has the advantage of having a dug in artillery position but very little forces to defend it if the enemy endures the struggle. Also fun suggestion for those playing ACW canons and finding it a bit awkward to use canister or round shot. Effectively at this time shrapnel shells were just as much in use by some artillery as such I do provide the option for players to use them during this period. The rules (home brew) are simple. The round is declared and after presenting and firing the firer declares an area of ground in which he is initially aiming at - usually before the enemy. Roll a D6. On a 5+ the shell explodes. Roll another D6 and this is however many inches the shrapnel flies forward/down/covers. Each unit in a straight line under this D6 of inches suffers the effect of having been hit by canister (tho the number of hits is shared out like usual). If the shell fails to explode initially, roll D6+1 and move the shell that many inches forward and roll a D6 again with an increasing +1 to the roll for however many times it fails to explode. This is how far the shell has gone before it has exploded. If the shell has not exploded after 3 moves it’s considered dud and no more happens. Just thuds the ground inconsistently.

I thought for every platoon like a hvy weapons platoon etc you had to field one rifle platoon. If that were so you couldnt field an artillary platoon unless you fielded another rifle platoon. Can you explain the rule to me?

One rifle platoon unlocks one of each of the other types. Check the example lists in the rule book

I'm looking forward to seeing these on the board, and revisiting the pint sized campaigns. Have you given any thought to adding in a section of Airborne to your mix? Their camo patterns would give you something different to paint and still be British. As for resolutions this year, I have two: 1. To build out the War of the Rohirrim box for MESBG (Getting back into that with the new edition) - which will also be used for Midgard! 2. To build out a 15mm Russian WW2 force for Chain of Command.

Nice, just started some Perry DAK. The old sets of BA, while they seemed good at the time are pretty poor when you look at them now. Warlord’s more recent British/Canadian and Commando sets are great. As for the different scales I’d rather have 1:48 vehicles but as I’ve got so many 1:56 it would be too costly to replace them

I have exactly the same project in mind for this year and got the Warlord starter army box set. I'm asking a friend to do the base coats with his airbrush to reduce the pain of khaki. I'm also using some RKX 3D prints to provide some variety and specialist roles - spotters & engineers in particular. The RKX Canadians will pass as Brit's no problem and they have a range of support weapons - The sculpts are bit more realistically proportioned than Warlord figures, think Perry proportions - I will ask my friendly local 3D printer to increase them a few per cent next time. Also - Long time lurker and watcher here, first time commenting - Thanks to Andre and yourself for all the content and humour over the last years. You got me and my friends into Chain of Command and we're hooked - Wishing you and all the Nerd Cave team the very best for 2025.

Testament to your painting of the disruptive scheme on the Firefly, I did not notice its long barrel until you listed it off. In addition to the support section, have you considered making a couple extra Bren / PIAT / 2" Mortar teams for dismounted carrier crews?
@tabletopcp10 күн бұрын
Yeah I want to make an extra 2” mortar and piat as well for options.
