I'm thinking maybe you know there's that little tang you break off on the thread repair maybe the bolt is bumping into that
@MoeLarrycurly14 күн бұрын
That's odd that they will use a fine thread bolt in steel. I know it's done I know course thread least always seems better in a soft metal like aluminum. But I wonder what their thoughts were other than. They can get more threads per inch more contact area per inch per volt bolt that might be it I like the time certs but I've used helia coils in lighter applications such as there was one I had to do that held the oil pump on an evolution motor one of them was in bad shape and far as I know it still working for the person I'm sure you would have tell I told me if there was a failure.
@daygersden3 күн бұрын

With all the parts you replaced you can build another bike 👍🏼🏍️... I meant the last reds on the frame for the clutch cable and I couldn't figure out why everything's adjusted upright clutch rise clutch rod etc. Well I get to looking and like the plastic cable has been scrunched over the years which in essence makes the sheath shorter. I was scratching my head on that one for a while
@daygersden4 күн бұрын
Problem is although this bike ran beautifully, it had a lot of band aid fixes. Both shops that did the motor basically said the top and the lower didn't need to be done. Probably a lot of parts I'm replacing still would have been fine. But it's just easier to replace now rather than having to tear down again.

No I helped a friend we did it in my garage put some 103 cylinders on his '96 twin cam they were used Pistons and cylinders no we got new rings. I don't know if it's easier but I put the pistons in the jugs on the bench just enough so you still could get the wrist pin in. And then I put the jug on the studs of course on the twin cam there long studs I thought it might be easier doing it that way and then putting the wrist pin in and the keeper. Rather than try and do it putting the piston on the piston rod. And then trying to push the piston and be careful not to break the rings up into the jug cylinder. I thought I'd try it that way. now with the twin games of course it has the long rods so I had to push the Pistons up inside there and then pull them back out just enough to get the wrist pin through the hole of the pushrod and the two holes in the piston.
@daygersden8 күн бұрын
It's definitely easier to do it that way with a twin cam because of those studs.

I have this type of crimpers that it's kind of a heart-shaped as it when it's closed so it kind of cradles the insulated or non-insulated connector and then puts the heart shape. Or downward push where the connector is together. If that makes sense. Then I have another set of crimpers that actually they lock they will lock until you get them fully cramped and then they open up I don't know what they were called but. But they work pretty good

My wife has to keep a 60 foot rope clipped onto the collar of her rescue black lab mix. He's two years old and very very fast. We got him from Houston and had not seen snow either. This was our second snow for this winter season up here in West Bridgewater. Manny seems to love running in it. Enjoy the snow with the dogs and keep the video coming on the 76 Shovel.

We started off with a 50 ft lead, he chewed thru it a couple times, so we switched to a 15ft wire lead. Problem us when he's playing with the two older dog that wire lead can get wrapped around them and don't really want to see any of them hurt, so we switched to the short lead. He tries every thing he can to find a way out of the fence. I've got a shock collar based on a GPS system to hopefully keep him in the yard.

@daygersden Well it's kind of like an operating room it does to be clean as possible. So you don't get stuff in the motor 🤔😮. If I was smart I would have power washed the bike before I worked on it but I kept riding .. right up till the day it snowed
@daygersden18 күн бұрын
I had to power wash mine because the chain oiler was wide open with no line to actually oil the chain. I shut it down off when I bought it, but because of the oil leaks it had there was oil and grime everywhere underneath the bike. Not sure why Harley went from a hard line on the oiler like the panhead had to just a rubber hose. That current design is terrible. I might see if I can find the 65 hard line on ebay and retro fit it to the Shovel.
@MoeLarrycurly118 күн бұрын
@daygersden Well my chain oiler is shut off and I've isolated the primary it's now separate which I usually put about 6 oz of fluid in there primary fluid or straight 30 weight oil. But the crankcase breather grows across from the left right side to the left side and that's kind of blows right there I don't know if that's correct it blows right onto the chain about an inch from the chain going to the rear wheel. I mean you put your hand down there that motor breathes pretty good when it's running

At one time he built a dune buggy which he was into doing dune buggy stuff it had a gasoline motor if I remember it was a kit and you could put in any motor you would get the basic dune buggy kit. But it would drive the motor would drive the gasoline motor would drive hydraulic pumps and that's what propel the tires. But he found out the insurance on selling kits such as this was astronomical. @daygersden Well I moved here in roseland Indiana. In 1979 I moved out of the big city south of us. I bought that house when I was a junior in high school but about once a year the house would get broken into while my wife and I were at work cuz we work third shift. After three or four times of that. We were tired of it we moved up here to Rosemont you know he has about 607 people in the town. Only paid $19,000 for the house or they're about but it has about a third acre. The house was pretty bad The whole town of Roseland pretty much was efficient village. But the lake to the west of us was drained for the toll road system. And the interchange. In about 27 years ago I tore that house down and built this house. One March day I just started cutting the roof off. The wife got worried so I went and bought a 30x60 tarp and threw it over the top. In the end we cut up a whole house and stuck it in a dumpster and then we started building and going upward and build a two story. Mainly it was friends from the neighborhood the kids that grew up around here. They were mainly in construction that time. And they would bring some friends that would want to come and work nobody ever got paid they were just nice that they did that. My wife and I at the time work first shift and we got home and we started doing second shift on the house. And we'd work till dark or past. Then in '05 I tore down the little teeny my leg garage and actually build a 24x36. And they're already was built probably a 20x20 behind it attached to it and I bought the house in 79. When my son was little in 1984 we built a little addition on the back of that of probably 15 by 15 just to hold all my bits and bobs. As I tended to do a lot of work on the side plumbing heating and air roofs whatever anybody wanted. But I kept a regular job during my working career. Mostly doing maintenance. My favorite they didn't pay much was it the local museum. And several churches and the hospital.
