If I had the wall space I'd have some kind of big screen like that too it sure helps.. seeing schematics

@@MoeLarrycurly1 ya I moved it from the front wall to where it is now. It's going to help when I start the restoration of the shovel this fall.

When I timed my shovelhead with the points I had the Mark just coming into the hole on the right hand side..

@@MoeLarrycurly1 not sure why this wouldn't time as the instructions. I'm going to contact dynatek to see if the modules base timing is 35 degrees BTDC and that's why I'm seeing the single dot instead the the Duel one.

@@daygersden will I know on shovel heads like 80 to 82 or something they went from a line to a DOT.. why they would change it for a couple years is beyond me.. I'm not sure on sportsters I only had one in 1974.. well it was a 74 I didn't have it till like 1982

@@MoeLarrycurly1 single line in sporsters at least on a 98 I'd TDC front cylinder.

Well when I went back to points on my shovelhead I checked it with the single line vertical just getting into the hole I think that's so it's just slightly advanced.. it's better to be slightly advanced than retarded as I understand.. I have one of those plastic timing things too I got a couple of my bought one years ago and I thought I'd try a new one still I can't see the timing mark even after painting the timing mark.. so I've left mine just say AKA static timed not knowing what's really in my motor.. what someone did to it but luckily the straight up and down Mark was the one I did.. and then I also used when I advance the timing weights.. move the weights to full advanced I was able to utilize the two dots and that was like fully advanced so.. buy those two things theoretically I'm trying to find it starts fine runs fine and it's not hot... I do know they change color of cups there's a silver cup and a gold cup over the years.. now the diner I just did 2000 and then I have a 2000 I on my Softail.. I've always just used the line and then turn the the pickup how effect switch..I think it was just so that the red light came on or off if I'm right at that point is where I would set it. I think it's kind of like where the points break open and closed.. I've never used one of those in the nose cone mine has always been the box under the seat.. what is the same thing you have to you know wiggle the plate and get the light to come on and off

@@MoeLarrycurly1 some manuals say the two dots are 20 degrees BTDC while the single dot is 35 degrees BTDC.. Also the 20 degrees is international while 35 is domestic. If the 2000i uses 35 degrees as it's base then the single timing dot makes sense. I'll have to wait to contact dynatek. Their out in Nevada so 3 hour time difference.

Every time I did that I swear man my hair look like cuz I'm trying to look in the hole. I suddenly go back to the 50s like a greaser I come out of there and my hair is all slicked back. I must have a lot more compression or pressure in the bottom end or something.. yours didn't blow out too much I tell you mine that you get a hose in ....

@@daygersden I had a friend of mine come over who was the guy that was in my video about the magnet fishing.. I said here hold this and look and see if you can see the line. Hold the strobe light.. I asked him to do it cuz he usually has a bald head.. it's easier to wipe the oil off his bald head then my hair..lol
