Mixed plastics can be melted and recycled into ( plastic lumber , park benches 😝 ) ... or .... low grade products such as patio chairs , where the ultimate purity is not very important ................... DAVE™🛑

It's too bad companies do not make framed polycarbonate windows that are ready to install; they make only sheets that have to be framed in a DIY process. Glass and acrylic windows are readily available for install, but not polycarbonate. Why is that?

Pretty vague, considering you said number 7 plastics are a larger group; which you spent no time on.

Hard tooling is expensive in america. You can probably get limited life aluminum tools for tens of thousands in the US, but production high run tooling is very expensive.

Oil serves as fuel, but since 1960 we discovered oil could also be processed into polymers meaning plastic, and plastic threads. So we started manufacturing Polyester, Nylon, Viscose etc. but being oil it keeps its ignition and flammable properties even as we wear it. Labels warn, but who reads labels. Trousers, Skirts, Jackets, and even our bedding - sheets, duvets, covers, blankets ALL MADE FROM FLAMMABLE OIL. Heat or flame will set it alight. AND IT CLINGS TO YOU, STICKING TO YOUR SKIN. I get irritation or a rash wearing it, and prefer cotton. IF COTTON IS SET ALIGHT, IT FALLS AWAY FROM YOUR BODY not clings to it. AND CAN BE EXTINGUISHED OR PUT OUT MORE EASILY. Sadly climate change has reduced production of cotton, and more artificial oil based fabrics are produced.

You are right and wrong at the same time, if the problem is the amount of energy only, thin plastic will seem like a good choice, but when we understand the huge problem microplastics represents to our health and the health of all ecosystems, we are sleeping on top of a time bomb. Cotton bags are extremely durable, they can be patched easily if they brake, and we even can make them easily out of old cotton clothes, like shirts and t-shirts. Basically plastics do not degrade naturally, they just breakdown in micro pieces. They are not meant to be disposable.

Awesome, thank you for not trying to market your own product for once. Is refreshing to hear somebody just put out content that is actually designed to help others and not fill their pockets with subscriptions and downloads.

Your listening skills are a bit frustrating, Linus explains clearly that they went with the manufacturing partner that Megapro has used for 20 years. He chose Taiwan because the screwdriver partner they worked with Megapro already used that manufacturer.

All this greenwashing is very remote and theoretical. Reusable bags are usually better. They are unlikely to rip from rectangular items, the handle doesn't form a thin string that cuts into your hand when the bag is heavy, its shape is more flat and it is less likely to beat against the legs. Single use can be better if you need it to be watertight for things like meat. But then it has to be new and pretty thick. For saltwater it also has to be HDPE. I rarely see reusable bags in the trash. Usually people get paper bags, and throw out those. A reusable bag costs between €1.50 and €2.50, and if you choose to pay that, you won't throw the bag away lightly. They wouldn't individually wrap each bag if the shop ordered a big batch. It doesn't go anywhere near as deep as petroleum. They have to protect the groundwater from landfills are they are practically on the surface. I believe all this trash should be burnt. Imagine future civilizations digging into the ground to build something and find all our smelly garbage. A good bag has a rigid plastic liner, which can support milk cartons and eggs. A coarse weave PET bag is durable, but doens't hold its shape as well. They make work jackets out of this, and they wont rip like a polyester shirt. I never learned how to do the corner fold. My mother took that skill with her. I just fold them rectangularly.
