Question.. for expansion audio, you added the 1k resistor to one side of the 100k resistor and then added the 47k to the other side of the 100k resistor?

love the channel. I would put Model 2 in your video title, since the job is very different from the Model 1. I know it's in the decription, but not easy to tell from the title.

That mod is no doubt a must get. I installed this onto my Model 2 Sega MegaDrive. The colours looks phenomenal. The audio improvement blew me away and sounded absolutely incredible, Possibly way better than the Model 1 in my books. This mod was easy to follow. Good work on here with yours.

So FYI, the CFL back light that came originally is the power hungry culprit. I did a mod 12 years ago to mine that replaced the CFL with two LEDs flanking the OEM LCD with a straw bridging the two to diffuse light. I could get around 25+ hours on 6 AA batteries this way, still using the OEM LCD. Obviously this modern LCD is so much better. I may have to do this now. The picture is beautiful vs OEM.

Is there a way for us to 3d print the piece you attached your SNES multi out to ? kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4Coo2luadSJg9Usi=v_NY974qY7-Z1xSu&t=1637 . That #NoCutMod piece is what I need for my Super Famicom Box
@LIRetroGaming13 күн бұрын
Unfortunately I didn’t design a 3d printed part for it. That being said, do you have the original metal piece? I took mine to a metal worker and he created a replica with a rectangular hole cut into it for the multiout

Would you recommend this mod over the WiiHDMI from Arthrimus? I see that this one is smaller but the other one looks more solid for lack of a better word. Are there any benefits from one to the other? Any better sound or visual clarity on either?

The two mods both provide the same quality video and audio, but the AVE HDMI is easier to install

PLEASE NOTE the instructions on the official site for install does not explain where the BLUE ceramic capacitor goes. This video shows you where to use it: Replace the brown capacitor located at C8 on the NES PCB with the included blue one.

I just removed my PPU using the guide on the Tim Worthington website (where I ordered mine). I used solder braid as recommended but the pressure combined with the heat while pressing on the solder holes (to wick the solder up) damaged some of the holes. Thus, I would HIGHLY recommend using a heatgun (which I had but did not use since the official method was solder braid). I mean the damage is minimal (only the holes attached to nothing fell out)... but still not as clean as the heatgun left this project. (I'm always leery to use heatgun in case I overheat the chip... but it seem unlikely and I need to get over this)
@LIRetroGaming18 күн бұрын
Yeah I very strongly recommend a desoldering gun for the NESRGB installs. Braid does not remove enough solder from the vias and it’s so easy to cause damage as a result

Which give better results The JR with the RGB mod or the snes normal with the rgb mod

There are several versions of the original snes console. The 1chip versions look just as good as the jr, but the older models have inferior RGB compared to the jr

Judging by the number of wires soldered inside for this “official” GG TV mod for developers, the console can output not only composite, but also RGB.

Adding in a nesrgb would make it more expensive indeed. But they could have added a few headers for it so the jumper wires would have been easier. Same thing with the power supply, change it to USB power. Many TV 's don't have RF anymore. So replacing the RF box with a simple composite out could be done. You don't need the nesrgb for that. The voltage mod for expansion audio could also have been integrated. Lots of small points to make it more compatible with the modern day. I do get that they start with recreating the original first, but a plus version would be nice.

Hmm... I just got done installing / recapping my 1VA6 Genesis and adding Zaxour's 3BP to it. Wondering if the stock case has enough clearance to piggyback a 32x in there.. Also since I'm using his Genesis 2 Din with the 3BP piggybacked on its possible to use the little DIN boards to piggyback on top the 3BP or it needs to passthrough the 32x. I'm not to privvy to how the 32x outputs things but a V1 Trojan 32x might be neat if doable.
