Randomly saw his name today and said "oh man I wanna watch his defensive highlights" I remember him being a phenomenal defender but Holy Toledo my jaw was on the floor this entire video.. I mean baseball IQ is off the charts and it simply doesn't get any smoother .. Salute Brandon Phillips!! 1:1

It was possible for him to make most of those throws because he positioned himself well, he got great reads, he got an excellent jump while taking the right path to the ball, and his release was smoking.

This is a great list. One that comes to mind for me: Magglio Ordonez made a sensational diving catch in right field to preserve Justin Verlander's first no-hitter (2007 vs Milwaukee.)

I wonder if a player has ever lost an eye or something like that, I don’t really follow baseball but one of the reasons why I respect these guys is because they’re standing in front of a ball that’s hard af and that usually travels at a 100 mph and they basically aren’t allowed to get scared of getting hit.

And rarely will a Pitcher be ejected for an intentional throw to the face. But if a Pitcher gets hit from the ball off the Batter. The Battter is removed.

DeWayne Wise’s catch man. Just cinema. Whole crowd goes dead silent thinking the no hitter was just broken up by a homerun just for wise to reach over and the crowd erupts. Insane
