Thank you for sharing! I have a stent and will be having a nephrostomy placed. The stent has been very painful and docs seem to think that's unusual. I'll have to have a bag for 4 months and was searching for a personal experience. I'm grateful for your share!!!!

I have hydro nephrosis due to ureteral stricture and was advice to have a stent for 1 year and then test the response of my kidney after that. reading the comments here makes me want to take the prior offer of another doctor which is to cut the stricture in my ureter and have a stent for just 2 weeks rather than endure 1 year of stent. any recommendations based on your personal experience?

I found this really fascinating , especially the connection to OCD , anxiety and stress. I’ve done this since childhood also , but didn’t know it had a name. I could totally relate to not wanting little bumps etc and compulsively trying to remove them. My Dad was always saying “Don’t pick your face!” I’m now over 70 and have a disorder caused by a worn out nervous system. I also share your history with period pain and anxiety. My daughter is in her 30s and has the same symptoms. We also each have a Devon Rex cat and find their cuddles so supportive, which brought me to your channel. By the time you’re my age maybe they will figure out what causes these life long syndromes. My daughter and I have had successful careers and few know of these problems but thank you so much for sharing your story! Marley is adorable, as is our Roxy who is a black and white bi-color with green eyes.

A lot less harsh on the teeth as well, just a small benefit but it's cool. I switched for 2 weeks and felt superhuman.

Chloramine in the tap water goes into the distilled water. Only way to get rid of it is by disposing the first 100 ml of distilled water.

Bless your heart. Nobody understands how PAINFUL kidney stones are, until they have it. It feels like labor pain. It's unimaginable pain. I just had my first stone at 43. I had to have a stent, and it came out a few days ago. Miserable experience. My heart breaks for you, honey. I can't imagine what you've went through. Bless your heart.

I take both mine out today… this process of having stents since march has been so depressing. The pain, the feeling of not being able to do as much as you use to. It’s just been a lot. I plan on doing a lifestyle change though. Especially within my diet. May not stop these stones from reoccurring. But it’s worth trying

You wouldn't put tap water in a battery or radiator due to impurity's. So why drink water with impurity's. I've been drinking still water for over 10years now. Tap water is only good for cleaning only. Use citric acid to clean the scale.

I am experiencing frequent urination and constipation. When I urinate, I feel a balloon-like sensation on the left side of my abdomen and severe pain in my kidney. I still have one and a half weeks before my surgery to remove the stent. I am concerned about whether the pain will persist after the removal of stent. This discomfort is significantly affecting my ability to focus and concentrate. I would appreciate your expert opinion on this matter.

Had a ureteroscopy 2 days ago to remove a stone. Unfortunately for me, it was discovered I had a ureteral stricture so the scope couldn't pass through my ureter to get to the stone. A stent was placed. I'm dying of pain. Cannot stand straight, walk or move, nauseous at times, no appetite, peeing blood constantly and it's painful to pee, back hurts, abdomen feels full and extremely bloated, lower pelvic area in constant pain and the side with the stent is throbbing, can't get comfortable in any position, can't sleep, can't do a thing, basically bedridden. My parents are doing everything, feeding me, bathing me, changing my clothes, helping me use bathroom etc. Pure hell. I have to go at least 2 weeks with it. I don't know how to cope that long. Painkillers aren't helping much 😢 There is a chance the stent won't be enough and I have to do some sort of balloon dilation procedure in 2 weeks to try and retrieve the stone. If that doesn't work, I have to do laser to cut the stricture. All because of an unnecessary stone 😡 God help me through this! 😢 P.S: I am glad you are doing well and over this whole ordeal. God bless and thanks for the video. Thought I was having complications but it seems it's all "normal" with stents. You put my mind at ease so thanks a lot for sharing. My doctor gave me no info whatsoever about what to expect nor does he take my concerns seriously.

Shout out to your partner for helping out!! Decades of dealing with similar issues and it never gets easier but someone to lean on is priceless. Let’s all remind ourselves how lucky we are to live in this age of modern medical marvels. Surely even a few decades to a hundred years or so ago kidney blockage/stone pain issues were, well…likely midevil for a lack of a better term. Keep fighting the good fight! Much Love from Cali ✌️

Is it normal to feel pain when removing your stent? I tried removing it myself but it felt like it got caught on something and was too painful it was like my body did not want it to get out 😔 would you recommend I go to the ER or see my surgeon.

I know this is two years old and I am so sorry of the pain you experienced. I too had double j stints in each kidney. Started with the neph tubes in my back for 6 months, then the stints went in. All this because of cancer and blocking my uter tubes. Was told they could control the spasms with meds, get them put in then get told we can’t give you anything because of your reduced kidney function. So, o thing in the bladder for 6 months then two stints rubbing. I have never ever experienced such agony, constant agony, worse when I pee which is like all the time. I agree, docs should be honest and tell us this could suck. These are coming out in 48 hours, I will take my chances, I have a shit life right now and cannot even walk.

Wow, I am so fortunate that I was not in any pain while the stent was in place. I knew what a cystoscopy was like since I had gone over 20 years before. This time after a kidney surgery, I was not told until two days afterward, that I had a stent put in.I found a urologist who would remove the stent under general anesthesia because I would never let anyone do a cystoscopy again without that I realize that for some reason the procedure is not that painful but for enough patience, it is excruciating

So glad you’re drinking distilled water! Be sure and change the charcoal filter. It catches any chemicals that survives the condensation. It’s important to catch the VOCs.

I had my stent removed last Tuesday. I hated the stent! It was in there for 2 weeks and I urinated blood the entire time it was in there and kidneys ached and throbbed the whole time. Every time I urinated, it felt like someone was squeezing my testicles. I felt nauseous and clammy the entire time. The removal was pretty painful, but it didn’t take but like 10 seconds or so. Once it was out, I felt like a brand new man! I was finally able to pee and feel like it all came out.
