My wife and I visited in 1993. Great castle fortress. 2 full days of exploring, both the 'cite' and the rest of the entire town.

Hi There, nice to meet you both at Bletchley Park last weekend, had a good look at your images this last week and was very impressed with your photography. I am a member of my local photographic club so I do know a good picture when I see it, how you both find the time to produce all these images and travel time I don't know, but well done , keep shooting, best wishes. Man, I miss those days, grew up in Bishop. 25 degrees though isn't that cold, yet. It was always the day after the storm, a the clear blue sky, single digit temps and the North wind. That cuts right through you. Good to see the big elms out in front of Bishop High. Thanks for the views.

Docking is done today for many reasons and in a way to not cause harm or pain and was done when used to farm to keep from getting caught by machinery. I've shown and know this hitch and trust me when I say they are not trying to hurt pr damage a horse they have paid $60,000.00 for and I know they have spent more on one horse recently for their hitch and these horses have it better than most people do trust me

@christinenaomihanley Hey, great footage! Did you get permission from CalTech to fly over this? If so, mind sharing the contact info? I'm hoping to do the same. Thank you!
@christinenaomihanley2 жыл бұрын
We did have permission (pre-pandemic) though they are currently still closed to the public and we can't access the facility at this time. If you go to their web site the listed contact is Dr. Mark Hodges. The telescopes pointed straight up are stored and not in use otherwise the drones interfere with the observing.

I used to exercise a Percheron. Sadly he was euthanized after trampling and killing a woman who was helping the owner unload him..
@ALCRAN2010 Жыл бұрын
@@emcasting2603 That sounds like a horrible experience. Was it a stallion ? I can't see euthanizing a horse for that. Maybe a rabid dog, but not a gentle giant.
@emcasting2603 Жыл бұрын
@@ALCRAN2010 he wasn’t a stallion. I was out of the picture when It happened but he was being sold due to divorce. All of the horses were being sold. The owners wife managed everything about the horses and the barn very well. I don’t recall him being seriously injured. Since it was several years ago I’m checking on that now to make sure it wasn’t a horse story!

Wow pretty awesome, does the breed have trouble growing decent tail , like appaloosas or do they trim it down to that. I like the size and build.
@barbarad49853 жыл бұрын
Their manes and tails are naturally thick, but you rarely see it, because they often get cropped for shows.
@stevieflax3 жыл бұрын
@@barbarad4985 Thanks Barbara ! I know nothing about this breed, but I really like their size and build. It's good to know they can grow a tail to swat flies, if a person wanted one for riding.
@barbarad49853 жыл бұрын
@@stevieflax the breed itself is rarely used for riding, but it produces some great hybrids with other breeds and those are used under saddle. In Great Britain the Royal guard even uses Percheron/Cleveland Bay mixes. I have ridden a Percheron/Orlov trotter mix myself. And it's curious that the breed has two types of horses - the European lines are bulkier, whereas the American Percheron is leaner.
@klauskarbaumer63023 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately many American draft horse owners/breeders still dock the tails= cut off some of the tail bone, which makes the tail shorter, but the rear end to appear bigger. In multi-hitch teams it reduces the chance that a horse can catch the line under the tail, but it also makes it much harder for the horse to swish off bugs.
@Metamora_Mustangs3 жыл бұрын
They will dock the tail to prevent them from getting it caught in there harness and other equipment. This is common in working dogs to it doesn't hurt the animal just a safety precaution.
