According to Pete Sampras (No slouch himself with serve), Ivanisevic's serve was unreadable. you had to guess, and hope you guess right. Goran is the Best server ever.

Best serve ever and most deceitful .He can ace you with double digits only this is how deceiving his service motion is.

The key of this great forehand is that he does not open with the arm , only turn the trunk , like a boxing punch .

First add 16 kmh to 204 kmh. his serve was 220 kmh. also add 10 mph at key Biscayne. his game was not just serve. he had phenomenal groundstrokes on both wings. he had incredible hands and touch feel at net though he wasn't a natural volleyer. after backer he was the next iteration of the modern game. serve + huge groundstrokes not the best natural volleyer but great touch at net. underrated game. massive talent. unfortunately hismind let him down. i also forgot to add,he was incredibly fast and could hit nadal like passing shots on the dead run

I had a love/hate relationship with Courier. I hated that he beat Edberg two years in a row at the Aus Open, but I did respect him for the massive improvements he made to become No.1 and for becoming the first dominant student from the Bollettieri academy and the young crop of Americans at the time (including Agassi, Chang, Sampras, etc).

Only because of technology. It takes more athleticism to s&v than hitting from the baseline.
@razgriz1ne1ne487 ай бұрын
One thing people overlook was Goran on rare occasions would do the "all in one" serve which i think led to his shoulder issues, pretty much hit a sliding kick serve at 130mph, that serve was nightmarish to deal with if it was in, but it was a high risk serve that was in only half the time.

Edberg really beat Emilio Sanchez badly. Sanchez was one of my favorites. What's obvious: Edbgerg volley is one of best in history. Don't think anyone today volleys like be did or is capable of it.
