You should have spent more time on adding correct details. You have a mixture of an A6A, and A6E model aircraft. Wings weren't ever folded with speed brakes and flaps open. Fuselage speed brakes were never used after wingtip speed brakes were installed. Nvg lights were never on an A6A. Way too much of a hodgepodge of parts from different models of the Intruder used all at once on here is way too noticeable to me. I worked on the Intruder my whole time in the Marine Corps.
@myplasticprojects19 күн бұрын
I already heard about the differences, but after I finished it. Very disappointing situation for me. But I have to handle with it now. Maybe I will fix the issues. Another said the seats are wrong. But in the kit these seats are included only. Thank you for all the information. I hope you enjoyed it though. Greetings from Germany 🤘🏼
@AnthonyCottrell-j5q19 күн бұрын
@@myplasticprojects I enjoyed it very much. You have a rare talent that is positively highlighted in this beautiful model. I don't mean to give you a hard time for your effort. It is a beautiful piece of work. I've known about the mistakes Hobby Boss made on their model for awhile now though. Sometimes people have found and fixed them, and sometimes not. But the job you did on the model is awesome, and seeing it brings back some very good memories for me, and I'm sure for others as well. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

The guy I built that model don’t want it so I didn’t add it. The models I build for myself will have them. But in Germany it isn’t allowed to show them. So in case I choose a thumbnail, I need to blur the swastikas or I need to choose an angle you‘ll not see it. It’s a forbidden symbol to show in public

Very nice build of the intruder ! I worked for Grumman Aerospace Corp. in the US for 17 years building the F-14 Tomcat, A-6 Intruder and EA-6B Prowler aircraft for the US Navy and I'm also a model builder. It was the perfect place to get information on detailing my kit's. All I had to do was just go to work ! One note on adding any electrical wires on aircraft models and that's they are NEVER twisted as I see so many model builders do. All harness wires were only run straight in bundles, no twisting. Keep on building ! Cheers.
@ChrisNobodySpecialАй бұрын
That is good info. Thanks. Twisting cables or wire runs would probably cause inductive interference and undue abrasion. Any other tips? I am building the Revell A-6E in Vietnam era livery. I plan on building a HobbyBoss A-6E for my sons father-n-law. He retired as an O-6 and was an A-6E B/N in the 1980s/90s and later a Sqdn Maintenance Officer.

Just stunning! What a great build, well done. Minor question: Why is the starboard wingtip navigation light shown w/a yellow cover? I worked the flight deck on 3 carriers w/A-6 squadrons & always thought the lights appeared dark blue when unlit. Again, incredible piece of art.
@myplasticprojectsАй бұрын
Thank you very much sir!! To be honest? I don’t know. That’s a decal. And some reference pictures showed this light in yellow too. So maybe it’s up to the aircraft and version? The He 111 is in my opinion one of the most beautiful bombers of World War II. Congratulations on the execution of the model, especially considering its size. Only note (since you ask) I would not use copper wire for the antenna, better the fishing line 😉. Greetings from Italy

What was the tape for on the leading edge? Was it to help with ice build-up? I was at El Toro MCAS in the 80s, right when they were bringing in the first F/A-18s. I remember as a 10 year old kid being at El Toro in 1968 when my brother was there after coming back from Vietnam. My little brother and I would sit next to the North side of the runway under a tree and a grassy area watch some of the flight ops. I remember the A-6s, A-4s and F-4s shooting approaches and full stops. To us little kids, we thought the A-6 was ugly with bulbous nose. Later on when I learned their all-weather capability, it became a favorite
@Mishn0Ай бұрын
@@ChrisNobodySpecial It keeps the paint from peeling off in the slipstream. Flying through rain without the tape would erode the paint off to bare aluminum and that's not good on a naval aircraft out in the salt air. I was at El Toro at the same time. You can guess where by my icon thingy! I got out just a month after the last F-4s flew off to the bone yard to be converted into target drones.
@FredKuramuraАй бұрын
@@ChrisNobodySpecial I was stationed at MCAS El Toro in the 80's. The tape was to protect from rocks and other debrie from damaging the leading wing surface.

Awesome build...no doubt......but, the A-6 Intruder and EA-6B Prowler did not fold wings with flaps/slats deployed. It would do severe damage. Unfold the wings or close the flaps/slats. Otherwise, this is a very nice build.
