I never cared for Leno's Tonight Show. His monologues were usually pretty good but most of the time his skits were awful and his banter with his guests was predictable and stale.

Branford Marsalis always looked so miserable on Leno's Tonight Show. No wonder he didn't last long.

It was absolutely a crime they pushed him out! He had no inkling or desire to retire! They forced him to retire…. And it broke his heart. You can tell how emotional he got. I was 14 when this aired. I didn’t watch his show regularly at that age or earlier years unless he had a pro athlete or Robin Williams or some other actor that was one of my favorites. But I watched as many as I could that last season, knowing it was very special and there would never be another Johnny Carson! And I am so glad I did! RiP Mr. Tonight!

Johnny Carson passed away on January 23, 2005, at the age of 79. He died from respiratory failure caused by emphysema at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Carson, the legendary host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, had been a heavy smoker for decades, which contributed to his health issues. In his later years, he lived a private life in Malibu, California, away from the public eye. Johnny Carson was cremated, and his ashes were given to his family. He does not have a traditional gravesite or burial location. Carson was known for being a private person, and his family respected his wishes to keep arrangements discreet and low-key.

Thanks for this fantastic footage and memories. My channel covers the 1992 PC game Stunt Island. I am working on a video that talks a bit about the early 90s software scene, the feeling of bringing the box of software home and opening it, strategy guides, etc. May I use a short clip from this video? I will credit you and link to your channel.

There is a reason why he is called the King of Latenight. A title that was not only earned but deserved. As much as I would love to see someone try to repeat his reign of latenight its just not capable of happening more than once in a lifetime.

This version of Jay Leno's Tonight Show set in Johnny Carson's old Studio 1 was relatively short-lived, before Leno moved to Studio 3 where he had the most successful years of his run, so it never occurred to me before now that the painted backdrop is kind of similar to the backdrop of Conan O'Brien's TBS set.
@cornerofthemoonКүн бұрын
The Studio 3 set had a comedy club vibe and moved the audience much closer to the stage. Leno was far more comfortable in this setting. This is one of the reasons Leno pulled ahead of Letterman in 1995. Other reasons include NBC's resurgence and eventual dominance in the ratings in the 90's and Letterman losing many of his best staff and writers around this time.

it was clearly another ploy to bring another candidate down the way it got done, somebody who knew his weakness planted that naive stupid foolish jew girl as intern and then that blonde co worker deliberately did all recording and all of expose.. on a normal male sexuality some have more some has less, which European presidents have their side snacks on discreet notes:) they all are coming to the same conclusions, of course it was a plant.
