Am I missing something, but isn't this catch-up gear just 3 pieces? For returning players, what are they supposed to use for the weapon and all of the other slots? Also using this gear only works vs undead, so it's garbage vs any content with non-undead mobs (many dungeons and the other raids).

I think the catchup gear making the before raids pointless is a fail. The whole fun of classic is having a bunch of different raids u can do at once but htis kinda makes them feel pointless.

I think Blizzard gatekeeper entertainment is defiantly listening to us the extra gear for fresh toons is awesome! Only beef I have is if you're going to give us barrowed power system then don't gate keep it like with the trinket let us grind as much as went want and max it!

As someone with nearly full AQ bis gear, I don’t mind as all that others (and my alts) can get catchup gear so easily. I’ve enjoyed getting ever item I’ve earned, so I’m not salty at all. Actually kind of hyped about all the new people starting SOD because of the catch-up runes and gear that’s in the game

Not a single person talking bad about SOD is actively raiding in SOD right now. Y’all options ain’t your own you’ve been Polymorph IRL. None of the people you watch that talk shit about sod would be talking shit about sod if it was the best thing to play to farm views right now. They’d all be playing it. Catch up gear is fine, I'd prefer we got heroic dungeons and a new farmable trinket/ring set or something...alas we will eventually get that in TBC lol!

personally, to get new players caught up. this is perfect considering a lot of people that are in raiding progress guilds or have completed the raids more then 3 times, this i think it's fine and i don't care if they catch up alt toons or new raiders personally cause that means no excuse of them not having the gear when they can get the gear from the event going on. so i'm not sweating on it really. just more shit to do in this version of "classic".

I'll probabl partake of the event, but I'm not sure the point of it all since this will likely be the final phase of SoD. After which it all just goes away. To my knowledge none of this will transition into a BC expansion.

As a retail player I am starting to get a bit jealous of what's happening in SOD. I might have to jump on my Lvl 60 Feral which I have not been on for 3 months. Karazhan Crypts sounds awesome so catch up gear is a good option.

The only problem I have with the sanctified gear is that it's only good for naxx. For some specs full set naxx/sanctified is kinda bad so they still need to use AQ/BWL sets for other activities, and that's a bummer
