@@jbordelon82 yeah that’s always an issue unless you know where to throw at. All the spots I go too I’ve been going there for years so I know they don’t have any hangs. Anytime I go to a new place I bring an old new that has been ripped and repaired and I throw that one first in case I hang up I don’t destroy my good net until I find a spot with no snags in that area or I watch other people around throw and take notes of the areas.

I learned this method about 10+ years ago from an old friend. It’s by far my favorite method. I have a video somewhere on this channel teaching it. Maybe one day I’ll create a new video. It’s an old one.

To be honest with you man I’m not 100% sure I gained weight and didn’t feel too safe in a kayak so I ended up selling the complete setup I’m looking into getting a boat instead. I didn’t use it all that much but it felt like a pretty solid rudder. It didn’t have any issue steering the kayak I tested it for a good week after installing it did great. Under long use I don’t know though.

It can get muddy it depends how much rain we get all the bottoms are muddy so if it rains hard it can make the water more murky

Let me know how you like it I ended up gaining weight and didn’t feel too safe on a kayak I prefer a boat but people who stick to kayaks really love them

Hahahaha sorry for the late reply life got in the way and I got in a huge bind after losing my job and sold the kayak and most of my fishing stuff so I hadn’t been able to do much fishing lately. I keep forgetting to check my KZbin. Been a bit depressed about the thing so haven’t even thought about it.

Nah I had to sell some of my stuff during hard times and then had to stop fishing for a while for life reasons and while I was taking a break my vehicle got broke into and they stole everything I owned for fishing. Been down for a while because of it because I can’t replace thousands of dollars of fishing equipment like that. I also got aggravated with KZbin they refuse to share my videos to anyone. They don’t like helping small creators get any recognition so all the hard work I put into editing and shooting the videos they give me 100 views. Got tired of the platform too.

@@RollingCajunOutdoors I understand and I hate a thief. I just make the videos for myself and share on KZbin for family and friends and if I get more people who like it and subscribe that's ok too. Would I like to make money for the all the work? Of course, but that's the main reason. I do understand your frustration though and maybe someday we can hook up and fish together.

@@youroutdoors5453 yeah it's way too much work to make really good edited videos to not get any money for doing it. I worked too hard on my channel over 100 videos and made absolutely nothing for all of it.

Only person ever mess with me was a guy checking crab traps up the gully... I was walking/fishing on the bank about 50yds from the bridge

@@murphyspell7125 Every time I have gone there when the cops pass they run me off every single time. I stopped going tried of dealing with them. It's been over a year but heard the same from a lot of others. They actually got tickets for fishing there from the hackberry cops.

Second bridge outside of hackberry heading towards Holly beach is where I used to go I have not been at all this year. As much trouble as it is to find a spot that isn't taking to even get the shrimp I decided to buy my shrimp this year instead

All the convenient stores near saltwater fishing spots normally carry it where the shrimp and other bait is at. You can also get it in some grocery stores it's beef pancreas. Any meat market will have it as well.

What do you mean they shut it down? They always put signs up saying no parking but people do it anyways because we don't care we are never going to stop catching food.

It’s a marina in hackberry Louisiana but they don’t like people fishing off the piers because it’s a boat dock for boats to dock off and go inside to buy bait. My buddy knows the ower so they don’t give us shit as long as we don’t fish during peak hours. They try to wait till after they close.

I like to use #6 or #7 circle hook or you can do a nice size treble hook too. You just have to give them time to swallow it. I let them take it for a good 5-10 minutes so they have plenty of time to swallow otherwise you'll just pull the hook right out of their mouth every time.

You can't you are not allowed to fish at those spots I do it without permission because fuck them. You can't catch flounder there anymore anyways they have a season on it now so you ant catch them during the flounder run so it's pointless

😉 they still run...flounder don't have a calendar. They were eating live shrimp Friday. Incoming tide. Same spot.

Only had thing about braid is it cuts really easy on shark objects. That's why mono is good for that because it's more resistant to cuts

No I don't live in Texas anymore I've been gone several years I live in Louisiana now.

The tiny amount of water that could possible go through such a tight small hole is completely minimal compared to the waves etc that will find their way inside the hull no matter what I always have a little water in the hill after a good trip out. There are a lot of different screws attaching all the stuff to the hull that can leak as well. It's hard to make them completely waterproof. I guess every little bit helps though

it shouldn't matter because it's a fluke and it's meant to be jerked and let sit for a second. It wouldn't change anything if you flipped it.
