Will this work also for the 986? I had to replace seals/ Oring in the fuel pump cap, and now i can't get her started and ive never timed the tractor before. I didnt take the unit off the machine. The 986 is a 78' and has a Bosch pump. It doenst have the window you are talking about or at least I cannot find it

2 years ago, my parents gave me my fathers 92 K2500 6.5L 4L80E w/ 259k miles. He told me it was ran dry on oil and has sat for 15+ years. Well after checking the fuel filter and finding out it looked brand new I filled the filter housing with ATF. Placed 2 batteries in the truck and cranked it for less then a minute and it fired right up. Unfortunately I discovered a knock. the oil looks clean and the knock is on turbo side. I have crawled under it while it was running and have no noise, clean coolant. Has no power when trying to move it and white smokes in drive or reverse trying to move it, but I can rev it and it doesn't white smoke. I really want to see hit the road again because he loves the truck but I've 1. never owned a diesel and 2. no idea about what's happening because of the lack of information about injector knock, if that's what's happening.

I am always shocked with the lack of fused circuits on some of these big trucks. God forbid you get a short going to your window motor. The price for the FTR’s Window switch, which is attached to a small board to reverse the polarity. After market it’s $350. It most certainly cost them the same to make that little board and switch as it does for Walmart to make those cheap little toy helicopters.

The reason I know this. I work as a mechanic for a landscaping company. That sadly bought a ftr before I started. It’s not hard to work on. Pretty accessible, but it’s just a piece of 90s plastic junk. The landscapers have broken every single switch, but the old harvester we have is the only truck that has withstood 20 years of abuse, and is still somewhat nice. That dt466 is a work horse. It’s so cheep to maintain 😂 it doesn’t even have glow plugs or a grid heater.

The DTC P0603 Internal KAM (Keep Alive Memory) Error occurs whenever the PCM loses power to pin #55, such as disconnecting the batteries, removing the PCM, and can also occur when installing or removing a chip. This power is necessary to keep any stored DTC's; if it is interrupted, all stored codes will be lost.

@darylmixan8170 I had a issue sounds the same. I unhooked both negative leads from both batteries, took a booster cable and hooked the black lead to both negative sides for about 5 mins, took it off and hooked my cables back to the batteries and started it up. It stumps the computer and resets the system. I'm just telling you what I did and you may want to research it before doing the same. It may work for as well.

OK, I have a towed in dodge 3500 with injector pump already off. I installed a new one but have no fuel out of the cp3. I have yet to do a flow test, but I do have some getting to cp3.

Please I need help with my 6.9 Idi I had to replace all the fuel system like fuel lines fuel tank injection pump injectors lift pump no I can get the truck start the truck starts and runs for like 2 or 3 min then dies and is impossible to be able to run right away after it dies basically I had to wait till next day to be able to start the truck again any suggestions please anybody? What if: the engine starts and runs but, it has a definite miss and when you loosen the fuel nut on the injector line, no fuel comes out of two of eight injectors? And it doesn't smoke much idling but it smokes a lot under power?

Be careful when buying new motorcraft plugs. They make counterfeits that are as bad as autolites. The channel "not so grand garage" has a good video about this.

I have a 1986 6.9 IDI with brand new injectors brand new glow plugs. The fuel pump injector it's got fuel in the bow. It won't produce fuel out to the injectors. What's my problem? Please help me. This F250 has been sent for 10 years.

hey guys great info! ive been watching this video for over a month and trying to use my friends snap on modus and andother modus elite and i cannot find my injector pressure rate. i can find fuel rail pressure. but i know thats not correct. i dont have a run ability issue. i have already replaced the injectors. with Bosch remans.. but my truck is close to 300K. what tools and how do i find my IPR? HELP!

I recently replace the head gaskets on my 86 IDI. In the process I removed the entire injection pump along with its gear because I was replacing front main seal as well. Ive made sure that the Ys and dots lined up accordingly. Now it's not starting, my return lines appeared to be pulling air into the line somehow, but it's alot. My lines and orings etc look fine. I pulled a couple return caps off onthe side that seems to be getting air and cranked it over a bit. Fuel is being pumped but is no fuel whatsoever is coming out of the injectors return outlet. What's the deal here?

Mine only does it with high fuel temp p0087 Idea for a poor man Adding a good size fuel cooler to the feed line going to the filter head and I might actually add one to the Air dog bypass now that I'm thinking about it wouldn't hurt a thing to have 3 coolers and under 100$ invested

Really easy to wire up, just pull off the white wire at the relay and wire up a switch from that terminal to ground

Loved the videos! In one you said if you remove or loosen the check valve (return) and the engine starts..... why would it start(help). Low pressure side... what shifted? Viscosity comp, pressure reg? I’m confused how it changed the high pressure pistons from producing high injection pressure. Help the confused 😮 Thanks in advance JohnnyGSE
