This is a great question! As a couponer I see this all the time! And these stores have no knowledge of how their loyalty systems work let alone make it better! The need to start at the basics. Learning what it is. #2 learning the way coupons, rebates, ect work. #3 Customer Service is an absolute

CX titles are expanding, I have seen various types CXO, CXM, CEM, CCO, CSM etc. what is the main designation for this role? or is it still maturing as a discipline?

There are so many! Many organizations are adopting Chief Customer Officer (CCO) or Chief Experience Officer (CXO) titles. Regardless of the title or position on the org chart, it’s imperative to remember that effective Customer Experience (CX) is a company-wide commitment.

Thank you! While I have used and encountered many, I don't focus on specific CX platforms. Since I work with so many different organizations, it's important to stay focused on the overall strategy rather than specific tools.

Great episode, Jeannie! I totally agree with the points that were raised. Some CX leaders fail to see value in being able to simplify things for users, and this actually pushes them away and makes their numbers dwindle. Add the fact that there are times wherein there just aren’t enough options given to the customers, and that further complicates things. Hoping this strikes a chord and helps CX leaders learn and adjust!

“What was the worst thing we heard from customers?” - definitely a good question to think about. Customer complaints are opportunities in disguise. If companies can analyze the worst thing that they’ve heard from their customers, they can figure out how to address this issue and use it for further improvement.

I was asked by my Manager to look into why people do not respond to customers on time...and there are lot of follow-up emails...i worked on different methodologies and trying to understand how to make a strategy on the problem..then after lot of rsearch...i found you...bang .. Customer experience the area i need to focus on...let me make a presentation and talk to him

I always recommend checking www.cxpa.org and www.customerthink.com for great resources and learning opportunities. CXPA also has job listings to show what's available in the industry.

Great discussion, Jeannie! Data and numbers are indeed important. However, not everyone can understand them. This is where the importance of storytelling enters. If we want to truly connect and resonate with our customers, we can always rely on stories. We must never forget that our customers are humans, and we should appeal to their emotions. Numbers won’t always make the cut when it comes to this, but stories definitely will.

“Define customer experience in the right way” - precisely! If you want to plot a course, it’s just as important to know where you are now as to know where you want to go. The journey will be much clearer if you have clearly defined the customer experience you want to create.

This is very insightful, Jeannie! I’ve learned a lot from you. Asking the customer what would make it easier is an effective strategy! We directly find out how to make things more efficient for them. We discover their pain and we even know how to solve it.

Thanks for this, Jeannie! It’s very important to conduct EFFECTIVE meetings so as not to waste anybody’s time. Setting the agenda is crucial. It directs everyone involved and reminds them of what needs to be accomplished. It should be set and sent out before the meeting so everyone can manage their expectations and thoroughly prepare.

You’re right, Jeannie - it’s important to hang out with customers. Spending time on the frontlines is essential. There’s value in hearing directly from the customers what they have to say about the product. Leaders should spend some time in contact centers too and listen to customer complaints firsthand. There’s plenty of opportunities to figure out our customers' problems and be able to eliminate them.
