I think one of my favourite exchanges with fake Tyr that hasn't been talked about too much is between Odin and Brok at 18:34. When Tyr disapproves of Brok's cooking, something which obviously has no continuity with his previous decisions, Brok takes it as light banter. Not only does Brok not take any real offense to this jab, but I feel like there's a good amount of sincerity to his dialogue here. I don't read this as Brok claiming how hard it is to cook, or that he's working with crappy supply or picky customers, but rather that he has such high opinions and compassion for everyone around him. He physically can't give them poor food because of who he is and how much he cares about the people around him. Odin, who's understanding and capacity for compassion and empathy are directly contrasted with Brok's, cannot understand this line as being anything other than bitter and petty, and reads it as a challenge. Then Brok, who had no idea that this could be read in such a shallow way, is genuinely confused. I feel like this scene would've been perfect in both this video, and Brett's essay about Brok and Odin's characters. Also I love at how 32:19, Odin pointing is synced with Brett saying Atreus' name.

a beautiful watch 🥰 re Elden Beast, i stumbled upon the Elegant Butterfly Seaslug, bootanically refered to as Cyerce Elegans, which most certainly served as hintspiration for ze Beast. The ominous empty seaside with the clay folks gazing into the seeming distance are one of those ER mysteries that is incredibly humbling because of the countless afk references we have for cultures lost to colonization of spirit and body. this planet is such an awe-maze 🚬🐲 what in the water stone fire iron henge had happened here. not to be THAT person but in case it hasn't been mentioned, felling Malenia does not return any in-game hint that it was a Demi-/God, i want to think Malenia's chrysalis arc isn't ova 😎💜

Another great moment is when the sages arrive to help you fight the demon king's army. Just seeing all of Link's friends coming to help him right when he needs them is honestly a pretty epic moment and brings all your adventures with them full circle.

I'll be honest, I have almost 700 hours in Elden Ring, and I dont think ive ever considered the cosmis side of it all. Yes, the gods came from the stars, like in most stories from our own cultures, but i never really realized that the the planet of elden ring is just infested with incomprehensible aliens that are fucking with the natives 😂

I wish Thor could go on the same prospective journey Kratos did in god of war 4. I think itd be really interesting to see Thor recovered from the lake of souls by his daughter. But failing to recover all of his soul like Brok and Sindri. Since Thor is half giant. Id like to believe only half of his soul is within the Lake. I also dont know if he could or should manifest a coporal form. But think itd be interesting to have his hammer thrown in the lake and have him returned with it. It could be really explosive scene. Seeing as the hammer which has killed so many be reveled by the souls its taken only for it to be recalled by thrud and her father grasping on to it for dear life.

One correction, Placidusax is a god in the way Marika or Malenia are gods, his elder god was also the greater will, he's specifically refereed to as an "Elden Lord" meaning he was consort to Marika's predecessor in the role of host of the elden ring.

I dont think any of the gods in Elden Ring pretend to be something they are not. I believe their power manifests as truly alter egos for some when their power or influence consumes them. As example Mogg isnt hiding as the Lord of Blood, that is who he is after becoming involved with the Mother of Blood. Ranni became rena when she broke away from her fate. Marika became Ragdagan because of power and understanding of things that challenged her views before. I think the entire part of us being juat tarnished until we rise to Elden Lord is sign that pur preception and understanding of power defines who we end up being in the game.

I think no discussion of Joel's decision is complete without addressing Ellie's response to it. She pauses, looks thoughtful, and says, "Okay." Now, this is _definitely_ open to interpretation, and intentionally so. In my mind, Ellie knows that Joel is lying to her, but she processes this, understands why he is lying, and out of love and understanding, chooses to play along. What's more, she probably knows that JOEL knows she doesn't believe him-- why else would she confront him so forcefully about it? That said, there is no way they could move forward without addressing what had happened. Ellie might just have easily asked, "Are we going to pretend you did not kill the fireflies to save my life?" and Joel might have responded, "Yes, we are going to pretend," and they both move forward like that, a little tainted, but with a mutual understanding. In my opinion, that is the actual conversation that is happening in the subtext. It's an ending that respects the journey they have been on together emotionally, but also respects the reality of the world they live in, where no one gets out without some scars.

In my opinion, if they decide to drop a GOW 6. I think it can go one of 3 ways: 1; Atreyus makes a grave mistake and is now in peril, causing Kratos to help his son. 2; Midguard comes under attack by another domineering and malevolent pantheon 3; Kratos returns to Greece to fix or right past wrongs.

A man who missused the innovation A man who did not take responsibilty And in the end- a man who died with the world he killed And quite frankly I do hope people who play this game (even tho it's a little bit mediocore of a game) go out with understanding that it's not just tech than breaks the world- it's the humans who missuse the tech (for ages it was an important message and right now we are having a form of critical mass forming- so normies, get to understanding this shit, world is not infinite)

I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I personally think most signs of marika's story point to her wanting to break the chains of the Greater Will and assume direct control of the Elden Ring, thereby replacing cosmic gods as the dictator of reality in the Lands Between. The thorns on the Erd Tree, which are the same lattice seen behind many statues of Marika and Radagon, are designed to force Tarnished who make it through Leyndel to destroy the tree (which has already probably been burned to ash before, at least once), and thereby bring down the Elden Beast (by pissing it off), where it can be destroyed. I'm not sure if burning the tree decreases the Greater Will's influence or something, but as long as the roots that the Erd Tree was grafted on to stay alive (those of the original Great Tree from back in the Crucible and earlier days), the life-giving tree that Marika started as a priestess of will come back eventually. Anyway, she was probably hoping not to die in the process of slaying the Greater Will's main control mechanism over the Lands Between, and to rule as a proper, independent, immortal god herself, given her obsession with the Rune of Death's removal from the ring, revamping of the process of birth and death, and safeguarding of Destined Death, but alas, she probably didn't have as good of a dodge roll as the Tarnished of No Reknown. I love her character as portrayed pre-DLC, which for anyone reading this in posterity, is when this comment was written. The sheer iron guts to try to upend incomprehensible gods for the sake of creating a more prosperous world and challenge the cosmos themselves is absolute peak JRPG "kill god with the power of friendship" hot blooded anime bullshit and I love it. Marika is easily one of my favorite characters in the game, and the way she represents humanity's constant struggle to control those forces you mentioned in this video (international politics, economics, climate, etc) resonates greatly with me.

I'm really glad you're doing a video on a soulsborne game, because whenever I listen to sealed grounds from skyward sword, I associate it equally between your videos and the soulsborne videos of Zullie the Witch. Also, intriguing title, considering Bloodborne exists (I haven't seen the video yet, so I assume it'll be covered).
