9:52 Insulating the floor is nothing new. Either you have a condition crawl where you insulate the foundation stem wall or you have a non-conditioned crawl where then you insulate the floor between the I-joist. This talk to upsell a house and a builder is non-sense.

All of these new houses look cheap and bland. Hill road is a nightmare. “Traffic” is now in the Boise dictionary. Becoming harder to appreciate the foothills when being blocked by these ugly “luxury” homes.

@ well I don’t think you would be doing your job well if you admitted to hearing how ugly these new homes are getting because it’s all about speed and profit. The first ones that come to mind are the cbh homes because they are directly on hill road. The others I only know by the streets they are on. Then you also have the new construction causing the roof rat infestation in Eagle to bleed into nearby areas.

This is definitely a higher price point area of the valley. Do you live in the Boise area? Sometimes people think they are driven out of the market, but there are ways some people dont know about to make it work out.

I like the older Boise bungalows. They may not have the R factor for insulation but the added character and usually bigger lot sizes outweigh the newer thrown together cookie cutter subdivisions

Totally get that. There is a reason the northend of Boise has one of the highest home prices. Those cool bungalow homes have a ton of character, that you cant really find in new construction homes. Do you live in the Boise area?

Crazy how dead-set Idahos greedy politicians are on turning Idaho into a shithole like Southern California. People stacked on top of each other, overcrowded schools, endless traffic, stretched emergency services, overcrowded emergency rooms. It sucks. As someone who has lived in So-Cal for 50 years trust me you don’t want this. I grew up in a nice area of California and through the years watched the developers swallow up the surrounding area destroy it and move on leaving us with all the things I mentioned above. Glad I caught this video because the wife and I were seriously considering moving to Star or Meridian next year but this has me questioning that decision. 😬

@ Yes. Our son’s graduating from U of I in May so we’ve spent a lot of time and money😂 in Idaho in the last four years and really like the state. We drove up to see him in Moscow in September and stayed in Meridian for about five days cruising around all the cities in the Treasure Valley to get a feel of the area and d really like Star & Meridian. Definitely grown a lot in the last 4 years. Hopefully you can keep the dipshit transplants from my state out of your local governments and state legislature. Glad to see Prop 1 failed guess it might buy you guys a little more time.

That completely depends on your budget and situation! Most of the communities will be old neighborhoods with older homes. CBH has a community called Music Estates that is one of the few New construction communities with options under $500K. All of the rest are skattered around. Locale is another one that has a great new construction community with some cool amenities. Are you thinking about it for yourself?
