1:10 Seeing these hater comments. Sheesh. I enjoy these videos. Sergei, I appreciate how you address these comments head on because I would have ignored the haters. I mean, why do people care so much about who Uncle Bill photographed in the 1970s, anyway? Keep up the good work, Comrade Cheeseburger. I’m a long-time fan/subscriber, but I still like sending you kudos in a comment every now and again.

If Steinbeck stayed in a hotel in Moscow (likely) , he would have been listened to electronically and likely filmed secretly through mirrors etc. Team Canada, players and coaches, experienced this during the Canada/Russia summit series in the early 70’s.

I have not read the book, however the movie ( grapes of wrath ) stuck me as having a socialist theme. The poor are victims of the rich capitalist only saved in the end by the government who supply free food, shelter, safety and even flush toilets unseen before by at least the children. Now if only Russia can do the same the utopian paradise would become a reality. Like your work. Thanks.

Omg , I remember watching these fairy tales in movie form back when I was a kid. I remember watching TV in my hotel in Moscow. Back in 1986. Don't leave your TV on or it will tell you to shut it off.

As a licensed amateur radio operator who's done emergency communications for various events I can tell you that this is genius. It goes up a lot faster than a metal mast antenna, and is a lot safer.

15:05 "Wallace" the report is talking about is Henry A. Wallace. He was Vice-President during FDR's third term but was replaced by Truman during Roosevelt's fourth term. He then became Secretary of Commerce. Truman fired him as Secretary of Commerce in 1946 because of his pro-Soviet views. Wallace then ran against Truman in the 1948 Presidential election on the left-wing Progressive Party where he only received about 2.3% of the vote. Harold Wallace was definitely the President that the Soviet Union would have wanted, but as this report shows, they knew he wasn't going to win the election. "Stassen" is Harold Stassen. He was the former Governor of Minnesota who tried to run as the Republican candidate for President in 1948 but lost in the Republican Primary to Thomas E. Dewey. 16:38 The "stupid book" was probably Elliott Roosevelt's 1946 book "As He Saw It". It was about the meetings between Franklin Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin. 16:55 "Priestley" was author J.B. Priestley, who in 1949 made it on George Orwell's list of people suspected of being Communist sympathizers.

The USSR is a union of neighboring countries occupied by Muscovy. Such an empire is not unique in the world. But, if other empires have evolved and given more rights and benefits to their slaves, Muscovy is still there. When we see the queues at the border to it, then it will be possible to talk about some kind of "greatness". There has always been racism and moronism, and words ending in -ism can be continued endlessly. Muscovites for some reason decided that everyone envies them, wants to attack, and betrays them, but in reality everything is exactly the opposite. Regarding the fact that the emigrant does not speak the local language well and the humor from this - it is really funny, because this emigrant, at least, learns a second language, and the accusation that the emigrant is taking your job generally indicates how undeveloped you are, that a person without a language and your rights takes your workplace. 😮

Interesting direction you are taking this "show." What a constant cover up. Those assisting had to realize the "dog & pony" they were assigned with. My dad (missionary) in Japan hooked Chinese sailors up with merican G I's just to play basketball game & both sides "brass" tried to turn it into a spy novel.
