My b33 swingarm model has a weird cyclic vibration in 4th gear , im wondering what bushes are worn ? , ive been through the primary and replaced the clutch basket and realigned the sprockets etc , ive got the outer off at the moment , fixing the kick start etc , trying to decide whether to get the gears out now, are there common things that wear out in these boxes .Any ideas greatly appreciated . Cheers

Do you still have this bike? does it run fine with the aftermarket airbox and exhaust? I was reading they don’t like anything but the factory stuff, however, the aftermarket airboxes look so much better. (1991 k75 rt)

Thank you for this clear video wich realy helped me fixing my Husqvarna 500 computer. I bought this machine 34 years ago and sewed so many many things on it. Two years ago he got the first dripp of oil eversince I bought the machine. Now the power connection goes on and off each time, during stitching. I am going to try to fix it myself. I've never done it before, so I think I'll manage thanks to your video. Time will tell. Kind regards Madeleine

Quick observation...as a general rule you need to be cautious when threading stainless threaded bolts into stainless threaded nuts etc. due to the tendency of the metal to "self-weld" , aka Gall. as the friction goes up. Using a thread lubricant or anti-sieze paste is always a good idea.

Regarding the clutch arm in the outer cover, the wear is usually worst in the direction that the arm moves…which must reduce the lift at the clutch pressure plate by that amount…not a good thing, especially if you have a 6 spring clutch. If you fit a bush it needs minimum interference or it will bow the outer cover. The temptation is to then flatten the outer cover on the gasket side by grinding, etc. This then screws up the gear change quadrant engagement…
@kerrywilton8266

Bit late to this party…but for future reference, give yourself a fighting chance! Put the gear change detent plunger in and select neutral…then start filling the box with gears…

I have a 2019 Duke 790 bought in 2021 with 19,000kms, my first KTM after years of Triumphs and Ducatis. So far not impressed with the reliability, oxygen sensor failed this Spring that coast me $800. Tried to start it yesterday and got a large exclamtion sign with 'IMMOBERLIZER FAILURE' notification. Bike did start eventually but I had no confidence going anywhere. I tried starting it today, starts sometimes and the the immob. failure warning comes on, and sometimes it did not start at all. I'm beginning to understand why there are a lot of 790s on the used market. Anyway off to the dealer, hopefully, on Monday.

Immobilizer failure is almost certainly low battery or loose battery connection. The original battery isn't very good quality. I replaced mine with a Motobatt.

@@motorbikewhisperer Thanks for the information, I will suggest that when I go to the dealer tomorrow. Checked the owner's manual and could find nothing on the Immoberlizer Failure. Do you have a model number for the Motobatt battery? Hoping it is the same in Canada then I could potentially oder one from Amazon. Cheers.

I have just attached one of these to a Singer 128 'Godzilla' as a complete hand crank conversion. I am unable to loosen the clutch so as to wind a bobbin/stop needle from going up/down without the whole thing coming off...as both parts would now be moving in the same direction. Is this the bit of adjusting that little screw? Thank you...!

Just move it down one inch exactly ,calculate 1 inch of fluid , plexi glass to barrel with hole ,grease to seal piston, not level is better , use a burette and meths and then you can easily calculate your dome volume .

Just putting a BSA A7SS like yours together. The head was removed in 1969 following a road accident to be painted matt black. It has not turned a wheel since then and now I have my hands on it I found it was seized at TDC. I have freed that up and the bores are fine though the clutch plates are stuck together. I have cleaned the head up and painted it with heat resistant matt black. All I need now is to be sure I have all the parts, bolts, nuts etc. to reassemble. I am concerned with lining up the push rods and there are no torque settings for the cylinder head or rocker box.

VHB (very high bond I think it stands for). I don't think the width is critical, it's just what I had, maybe 1.5mm

@@motorbikewhisperer Thanks for responding so quickly and clarifying that. 😃 I called our local computer repair store and they said they use regular, real thin double-sided clear tape (not the thicker foam kind). I've got some of that on hand so I'm going to try that first. Worst case is that it doesn't work and I go buy some of the stuff you suggested. I also ordered the screen you suggested in the video. I actually bought 2 just in case. At $9.70 ea shipped from China, it was worth the $$ to have a back up. Thanks again for the video. ...Dawne

Having played with my BMW (car) a little, I wonder if it's a code fault? Maybe the software is using the wrong setup? For instance, say yours is a 3 gallon tank, could the electronics think it's got a 2 gallon tank? Probably need a scan tool reader and maybe even re-coding ... maybe a visit to Mr KTM dealer, but I don't even know if you can do that on KTM's. Has it an OBD or Canbus port? ... ;)
@motorbikewhisperer
@motorbikewhisperer Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's that. The sender resistance isn't changing, so either the float isn't floating or there's something else that causes the resistance to stay at the same (low value). New senders are out of stock everywhere at the moment so it's going to be a little while before I can be 100% sure. It does have an OBD2 port yes.

THANK YOU!! This video helped solve a problem that has been plaguing me for ages. Using my first ever sewing machine, a vintage Singer which I immediately converted to hand crank, but was always disappointed because mine seemed unable to handle thick layers like the machines were praised for. Whenever I hit a thick spot, the wheel would just slide against the machine without turning the wheel. Turns out I put that little washer inside the wheel on backwards. With that corrected, it’s the beast of legend. 😼
