In the inside I see it has the same color as the dirt on the outside. I bought a K&N air filter. NEVER INSTALLED IT BTW. And after seeing filtration testing showing it definitely is not as effective as paper filters I went to get an OEM filter. K&N Filters are meant for race applications where engine longevity don't matter at all.

I’m curious if the filter is doing it’s job because it caused a thick layer of debris to add to the filtration due to the oil added? Did the filter collapse from pressure of the engine trying to force air in?

This is the exact setup I’m considering for my 2015 f150 farm truck. Driving down a lot of dirt/mud roads, on ice, over rock walls, etc. in the northeast i really think going the aluminum will pay off with all the salt on the roads in the winter.
