Trying to finish the same Gearhead suspension on my 69 Mustang. My lower control arm spacers are all one piece and appears needs to be cut. But I got no instructions. I couldn't find any video of yours where these were installed. Please help. Thanks
@MichaelEd
@MichaelEd Ай бұрын
@@garysmith3845 I pondered on that also and I did cut and weld mine in place. There’s no real certain instructions on how to install it because of different suspension/steering set-up. You are going to have to figure in your steering system and keep your front wheel assembly measurements centered in the wheel well, and you should be able to figure out how much of that spacer/rod you need to attach your lower control arm to. At first I used the gusset as a reference guide to cut mine,BUT after welding and mocking up the suspension I realized with my rack-n-pinion system I needed the buck of that spacer/rod up front in order to get the wheel centered in the wheel well after attaching the control arms. * mock-up,mock-up,mock-up to make sure your set-up will be centered and you should be able to figure out how much you’ll need to weld to the crossmember to get your arms lined up and your wheels center. I hope this helps. This video has where I installed the spacer and gusset. I did later have to redo this for the rack and pinion system.

@@MichaelEd Thanks so much for getting back. Looks like my spacer will all be on the backside of the crossmember (less the cut piece going inside the crossmember). I considered drilling the crossmember to 1 1/4" on the backside hole and just putting the spacer in as one piece, but then I thought it might be stronger leaving the 5/8 hole and cutting the spacer. FIRST! THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO... I've had my 2002 H2 Hummer for 15 years and the original OEM Air Bags lasted 8 years, before they developed a slow leak. I bought a set of AFTERMARKET BAGS for $140 a PAIR and those lasted another 7 years, but a month ago ie; July 12, 2024 the aftermarket bags began leaking and now it takes four days of sitting and the truck body bottoms out on the back, so... I am about to change the air bags for the SECOND TIME in 15 YEARS. I would be absolutely pompous and irresponsibly WHINY to complain about the cost, which will be $280 for 2 sets of bags (When I bought the first set of aftermarket replacements 7 years ago... I BOUGHT TWO SETS and kept one set stored in the box on a shelf.) I have driven my Hummer from Las Vegas to the Atlantic Ocean 12 times in 15 years, in 2020 my wife and I took a 22 state, 8,400 mile, 2 month Road Trip around America and in 2023 we did it again with a 20 state, 2 month 7,400 mile Road Trip, we drive it on highways OCEAN TO OCEAN, BORDER TO BORDER and we drive it OFF-ROAD to places if the if the truck breaks, somebody is likely to die... no services whatsoever for dozens of dozens of miles in any direction. So, tomorrow morning ie; Monday Sept. 9th, 2024, I will take the 30 minutes it requires (VERY EASY JOB!) to replace my air bags once again, PERHAPS ONE OF THE QUICKEST AND CHEAPEST REPAIRS ON ANY OF THE 56 VEHICLES I HAVE OWNED. I WILL CHANGE THEM OUT WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE. At 70 YEARS-OLD, this might be the last time I change air bags on MY HUMMER H2. Tomorrow is my 54th Wedding Anniversary, so I have to make the air bag change out a quick and painless repair.... I agree, the cost for good quality replacement air bigs are pricey, but there are some many more advantages over switching to cook springs. The ride quality is far better, having rig self-level whether your hauling a load of bricks or pulling a loaded trailer is worth the cost, and having air on demand has proven itself to justify the repair also. No real perk ( in my opinion) for switching to coil. Thanks for sharing your story and your great pics. 🎉HAPPY Anniversary, to you and your wife!!!

I would start from the beginning. Check: Battery, proper voltage, connections Battery cables, make sure your getting proper voltage to the other end that connected to relay. Rely, fuses and the your getting proper voltage to it and on the starter cable connection side of it. Starter, if all is good and your getting 12 volts to it, you might need to get it tested. Motor, 🤷‍♂️ just in case, make sure it isn’t locked-up. If your grizzly just started not cranking over and it was running fine before. I’d mainly check battery, relay, and fuses. *I have experience purchasing bad relays before, even though they were need.

@MichaelEd
@MichaelEd 3 ай бұрын
One goes on from the outside of the box and the other from the inside. Hopefully yours fits as it should, but thought I’d mention alternative just in case. If you experience issues that both bushing will not fit flush with the shifter housing box, you might need to remove some of the sleeve part of both bushings until both fit equally and the flange part of the bushings are up-against the surface of the housing box. OR…., just use one bushing inserted from the outside of the housing box. As shown at time stamp 2:37, and the shifter fits very snuggly without any give or play. I also put a link to CJ Pony’s install in the description. They put one on the inside and outside of the box.

2003 jets are not adjustable, you have to change them out if needed. Altitude elevation and clutch springs usually dictate jet replacement. The only adjustments I know of on the carb is curb idle, throttle cable, and air/fuel. * that one is located on the bottom of the carb up in a hole. It’s should be a flathead style screw and it right past the float bowl and before the intake boot. Loosen your intake boot clamp on the carb side and also the clamp on the carb where the air box connects, you can turn you carb towards the side and maybe see the air/fuel adjustment screw. Be mindful the your choke cable, throttle cable and other hoses are still connected when and after doing this. I hope this helps out? 👍

Choke port for cable should be on the driver left side of the carb, just above where the thumb curb idle adjustment is located. ⚠️caution⚠️: That connector is plastic screwing into aluminum. You can easily damage those plastic threads when installing and tightening. Might wanna install by hand only. Just my advice.👍
