This video was much appreciated! I would always see the intro part on Actors Access profile but never thought about how important it was until i watched this video. I always thought the demo reel would be more important. But both go hand and hand after seeing how many submissions a casting director receives for a project! I’m definitely adding an intro to my Actors Access! Thanks so much for the tips🙏🏾 please continue to bless us with more amazing content!

I would love to see a video on how to become a casting director or an assistant. This is definitely one of the areas of careers that I am interested in!

Hi since there is no degree or program to become a CD the most common way is through apprenticeship or interning at a casting office :)

I am DEVOURING all of your videos now...I especially was focused on the casting info but then happily I found this...each year I go to a film festival and I do the unhealthy STARVATION diet and even if it works the food is so good there that by mid festival I no longer fit in my gowns ha ! Better to try this more sustainable work out and diet plan

How do you become a casting director? I'm not finding much information about becoming one.

The most common way is through apprenticeship. Working your way up from casting assistant to casting associate then casting director.

Do you read the script yourself to get the character breakdowns or does the client do that?

It's about 50/50. Sometimes we get the character breakdowns upfront before we read the script and other times we will pull the script :). TV and commercials typically send character breakdowns upfront
