I would love to see a video on how to become a casting director or an assistant. This is definitely one of the areas of careers that I am interested in!
@BellaHibbs9 ай бұрын
Hi since there is no degree or program to become a CD the most common way is through apprenticeship or interning at a casting office :)

This video was much appreciated! I would always see the intro part on Actors Access profile but never thought about how important it was until i watched this video. I always thought the demo reel would be more important. But both go hand and hand after seeing how many submissions a casting director receives for a project! I’m definitely adding an intro to my Actors Access! Thanks so much for the tips🙏🏾 please continue to bless us with more amazing content!

Really good information. I didn't realize what all was involved and how special it is to just get a call to audition. I would love to see a video on self taping. It is one of the most important tools for an actor, especially now that we are socially distancing.
@BellaHibbs4 жыл бұрын
Tomorrow I'm doing a self-tape lesson on a Facebook and Instagram live 1pm :)

Hi Bella! This video is so helpful, mostly because as an actor we just focus on our side of the story and I personally love to see the other side of stories. I'm really glad you decided to share it, wish you all the best for your career! Hopefully we can work together soon! :)

Do you read the script yourself to get the character breakdowns or does the client do that?
@BellaHibbs2 жыл бұрын
It's about 50/50. Sometimes we get the character breakdowns upfront before we read the script and other times we will pull the script :). TV and commercials typically send character breakdowns upfront
@danmeck59782 жыл бұрын
Do you see the submissions in the order that the agents submit them? Ie if an agent submits actors 10 mins after you put out the breakdown, will those actors be at the top of your headshot thumbnails?

Thank you for sharing!!! When a director/ad agency/etc sends you a script and what their looking for, is there room for putting in you’re own suggestions. For example, if they ask for a 5’10 white man, but you think a black or Asian man of the same height might be better, can you share you’re opinion or do you have to strictly stick to what they want?
@BellaHibbs3 жыл бұрын
Yes, we do but more for film/tv. When is comes to commercials they are pretty strict on what they want :)

How do you become a casting director? I'm not finding much information about becoming one.
@BellaHibbs Жыл бұрын
The most common way is through apprenticeship. Working your way up from casting assistant to casting associate then casting director.
