I love Arnold and Helga so much yall have to understand why helga became a bully in the first place her home life is beyond shit with terrible parents who don’t care about her in the slightest and when Arnold complimented her she absolutely loved it because he was the one who showed her how to be loved and was nice to her! Unfortunately Harold and everyone else made fun of her and that’s why she became a bully she’s afraid of being rejected! The creator of the show said that Arnold and helga will get married and be just like Arnold’s grandparents! Saber I bet you forgot that Gertie was Phil’s school bully when they were in school! Arnold x helga= best couple ever!!!!!!!

Secret of NIMH is the best Don Bluth movie by far. Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven, and An American Tail are all masterpieces, but Secret of NIMH was probably the most influential for creator driven animation. It made Don Bluth a separate entity from Disney.

My buddy Justin just saw this movie recently, and was so upset he hadn't seen it sooner because he would've been all about a movie with a cool male lead that had the same name as him. Also, it was brought up while watching it, but isn't it so weird that it feels like it's wrong to see Mrs. Brisby naked, without her little shawl?

4:35 I've heard that in the book this movie is based off of, Justin and Mrs. Brisby (though in the boo version, it's Mrs. Frisby) did hook up - so it does explain the flirting scene, lol. Have heard they, unfortunately, had to scap some Justin/Mrs. Brisby scenes though. I also agree that the NIMH experimenting on animals scene is heartbreaking. Between this, Plague Dogs, Flanagan's Fall of the House of Usher, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and one of the scenes from Legally Blonde 2 - animal experimentation scenes punch me in the heart.

The version that was actually released by the studio after they took it away Richard Williams was actually cut differently to have more of a plot, the scene with One Eye and the escaping scout was put much more early on, which gives a bit more plot structure, whereas in this cut there's not really a plot until halfway through. I think I like the Thief having a constant running monologue, it's fun, it adds more to his scenes. But most of all, the version that the studio actually released was RELEASED so it could be seen by the general public, and a movie that comes out is much better than the idea of a movie that is forever in development that I never would've seen.

I don't know if she's a Brony anymore, but one artist I got to know in the fandom early on when I joined in 2013, she also sings and has appeared in different Brony Singer collabs, like I know she was friends with Turquoise Splash. Anyway, her brony name is Sugary Violet and she actually did her own rendition of Flying Dreams (the song that you hear in the sequence when Mrs. Brisby cares for Timothy and the ending credits song). To this day, that rendition still makes me cry! I can't remember which sight she uploaded it on since I haven't heard it in recent years. I want to say Song Cloud? For me Mrs. Brisby is one of the best written chars in fiction. I'll be honest, as a kid I did ship her and Justin lol. I remember seeing this movie as a kid when I was 5 or 6, definitely before Land Before Time came out though. I saw that because the movie never really traumatized me like that movie did. Scared me for sure. But yeah, the lengths that Mrs. Brisby goes to save her son and even the rest of her kids, I love it.

A couple of years ago one of the local theater chains did a Don Bluth weekend, a friend and I went to watch All Dogs Go To Heaven with Bluth and Gary Goldman, get stuff signed, and be there for a Q&A. It was fun, but yeah, Bluth seemed really tired and jaded. Goldman was delightful and engaging though! I got their art book and the film book for this signed!

I met Don Bluth at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I've heard some people speculate that the rats may not just be hyper-intelligent - they may also surpass human intelligence (which is why some of their technology is mystical and otherworldly). Not sure if that makes sense either, but it's a light-fantasy movie, so that may also explain why they don't go into detail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've noticed just now that Cowslip is the only rabbit who expresses more anthropomorpic/human physical mannerisms, like twirling or pointing his paws like a human would during a conversation, spending most of his screen time on his hind legs rather than all fours, except for when he has to walk, and even then he moves on four legs so unnaturally. I think it adds a bit more to his unnerving uncanninness, and really separates him from the other rabbits in the movie, not just as a character, but even as a species of rabbit in a way. Practically would be the same as comparing a primate who's spent their whole life in human captivity being brought food and living in a predator-free environment, and a primate who's grown and survived their whole life in their natural environment in the wild.
