Thank you for sharing your perspective and your experience. I too was homeless. I still Live in War Zone. I still struggle every day to stay afloat. And I feel for a lot of these people on the streets. Like you said, if your parents hadn't put you up rent free things may not have changed for you, not having that Step Up. A lot of these people have families who gave up on them, or they gave up and ran away from their families. Personal problems and issues, and the ego and pride associated with those issues. Homelessness is a really hard issue to pinpoint and tackle because it's such an individualized issue and doesn't have a one way solution like so many think. This situation is real, and 2 years later, the cops can now mess with them due to the recent Supreme Court Ruling that it's Illegal now to be homeless basically. They have recently been going to the encampments and ID'ing everyone and taking the ones in with warrants, which is a good thing, but as some of us know, they are simply going to be released right back onto the streets. This whole situation is a revolving door! It's never going away until each family takes their family members back in and start to show care for their own, instead of shuning them away and making them a public problem instead. I hope you're taking care of your parents now, after they gave you that place rent free and gave you that time to get your life back in order. Give thanks every day. Always show gratitude. Thanks again for sharing!

New Mexico is a very lenient state on EVERYTHING , the justice system, the education system, the job rules, the foster system, everything . I lived in Texas for many years and they were very strict and serious, I feel the opposite of New Mexico.

Hey bro! Nice seeing your channel ....this is the first episode I've watched and I'm really appreciate of what your doing...you know giving people a voice...i like how you tried to give her a meal, that's pretty nice of you guy's 👍...then at the end you say "that's ok...we don't shower for a couple days at a time" 😆 right on i thought ...i live with a friend...when i say live with...i mean, if it wasn't for him I'd be homeless... shelter's suck... there's more homeless people who absolutely do NOT trust shelters and for good reason. Here the big one in Phoenix is called cass ... one chick i met told me cass is crazy ...she said she had a small no big deal disagreement with a lady while staying there, she said the kady threatened to stab her. I told the chick telling me this that the lady was probably just exaggerating...the chick told me oh no...that lady lifted her pillow and showed me the knife she would stab me with! Kinda gives some perspectives on why homeless don't just get help huh ?

Outside or the city there are nice quiet housing for regular people who work i was homeless and i can say I survived ABQ for 10 years living on the street downtown and in the war zone. i was stabbed up went to the hospitial holding a knife in my chest so i wouldnt bleed to death i was just going to tape it up with gorillia tape. police talked me into going to the hospital. a few weeks after i had enough fun. my family let me come back home after 20 years eating out of dumpsters and sleeping where ever i could to survive the night, God is Great

Thats my old hood the war zone backstreets You started at hells gate i sold weed there everyday. lived down that first street you went down. lived in that motel often. a man died in the back ally there and his body was there most of the day, you could people went threw his pockets still had a needle in his arm. go down town to saint martians its the day shelter then drive by the rescue mission around dinner time 4-5 pm. or go at night we used to sleep on the ground in front of the mission. dont go there you could die. the whole state is getto new mexicans are rude as *uck until they get to know you. there is great health care and services the emergency room is always open and good place to go if you get stabbed up and robbed its a war zone.

Hey Brian....your comment about going homeless ... I'm responding to..was over 4 mo months ago and well...i don't know you, but i hope your safe right now....my Uncle was made to go homeless from my Grandpa ... it's common knowledge.... recently, like around '09 ...he told me how he was raped...he said one cold cold night a random stranger approached him offering him a place to crash ...he said that the guy was all nice and smiles until the door closed when they were inside his house...then he said, it was like the devil came out of him. I'm sorry to tell you this scary BUT true story of my Uncle's experience... please be safe...look for homeless shelters... don't try to rough it out in the streets, your NOT an animal your'a human being!... Look for a place called Homebase youth services in Phoenix Az...go to the library and look up thier information on the web... they'll probably even pay for a Greyhound bus ticket for you. They have a free room and board and they help get a good start out there... don't give up hope...ask the God of all hope to help you...ask Jesus Christ for His love, forgiveness and protection...things will get better because with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! ♥️🙏🇮🇱🇺🇲🐣

Girl, you can do this. I was assaulted at work, and they left me for dead. Major TBI, 5 hours in a coma. It was hard at first. Docs wanted me on meds. I finally took myself off. Gads, I dont miss that stupid brain fog. I joined a support group online, and it was THE biggest help. I have huge issues with short term memory. Somehow, I managed to pay my bills. I finally got SSI after a year, with help from a legal advocate. I was so grateful, I kissed her when she told me the news. I was scared I wouldnt get it, because my identity was also stolen. Not only did the IRS know I was the real me, I got back taxes the thief messed up. Oh, also, be sure and report income from holding a sign. New Mexico calls it self-employment. Social Services has a form to help you keep track. I report mine twice/year, when I get reviewed. Be blessed 💜💜💜

Dude, if they dont want the food, dont take it personal. I live in New Mexico also, and there are rumors sometimes, that mean people poison the food. Im sure after people get to know your group, it will be better. For now, try non-food packages, or fast food gift cards. Or bottles of water. Ive been watching Petes Promise, out of El Cajon, but I wanted to see whats going on for this type of outreach in our state. I also watch Invisible People, with Mark Horvath. Buena Suerte ☺, and I subbed.

you need to do a 2023 version and tilt the camera towards the side streets. The police have huddled all the homeless encampments off to the side streets that cross central. You should also do a walk around video near the central and san mateo area to REALLY capture the trashiness of the city. It SICKENS me walking in that area, but there's not enough videos showing just HOW bad it is.

I'm a native New Mexican born in Raton. I grew up in Albuquerque,,and graduated from Highland High School in 1988. I moved to Ohio in 2015. I can't begin to express how sad I am to see how Alb has become such a disgusting cesspool. In the 80''s, it was a nicer place. Far-left liberal retards carry a lot of the blame. Sad!!!!

The answer to the homeless problem is to start enforcing all the laws. No loitering, no littering, etc. Make it jail time instead of fines. As a former addict who was homeless in ABQ for 4 years, I can tell you. Until you mess with their high, they have no incentive to change. Right now addicts have damn near free run of the city. They can walk into stores and take food or whatever they want, nobody stops them. Ideal environment for an addict.

Hey bro I might try to hit you up soon. I like what you do. I'm an Albuquerque native, I've stept out there in the parks, I've been exposed to the environment. I'm also a huge gamer. I'm hoping in the near future we can put our brilliant minds together and make a difference if not make some epic plays. If we can make the city better great, if not at least make a difference to one resident sheltered or not. Some of the people in your videos are people I recognize. Even from behind or without seeing their faces. I hope 4 months with no uploads isn't a bad sign. I'm hoping we can keep ABTP going.

But there are really nice areas in Albuquerque, beyond the War Zone. The city climbs right up to the foot of the mountains, and there are lots of nice neighborhoods up Paseo del Norte, Academy, etc. Have you been to Elena Gallegos Open Space or Michael Emery Trailhead? It’s really beautiful up there, and it’s in the city limits. Albuquerque is my favorite city in the US.
