I do both. Music and video. Been on a macbook Pro for awhile. Was considering an eGPU. But ChatGPT and you changed my mind. I use Adobe Audition a lot. My i9 was struggling a bit and I was getting impatient. 6 hour exports and uploads were killin me. Just bought the M2 Pro. Thanks.

@ Certainly a game changer for mixing and mastering. With those stereo qs and inserts I was thinking of adding a Dangerous Liason to have a mastering chain as an insert.

@@fetti4real Thats a great idea, I have a Fusion and a MBP by Neve, with a Maag eq4. sounds really good coming out of the big six, that prints to a Pure 2. Love the routing !!! The Liason would make it real flexible

Hey Doug. Thanks for the excellent video. I am working to use this as the master clock connecting bnc and toslink cables between my Apollo x8 and the Revolution. I've connected the db25 cables to my RND Orbit summing mixer inputs and the Apollo/Revolution outputs. I noticed that the Revolution volume is slightly lower than my Apollo outputs. Going to troubleshoot. let me know if you have any suggestions! Thx

Wow. Prefer the WA unit on guitars, the Teltronix is preferred on nearly everything else. The WA units seem to always be more saturated than other brands.

The essence of internal sidechaining is to avoid certain frequencies triggering the compressor, isn’t it ? For instance, if you are compressing a whole mix one could use the internal sidechain (highpass)) to filter out the low frequencies (eg kick) from the compressor’s detector so that the compressor isn’t pumping too heavily. However the whole mix (all frequencies) will still be compressed. I sometimes hear people say thet the internal sidechain will determine which frequencies are compressed, but that is incorrect isn’t it ? (that would be a task for multiband compressors)

Thanks Doug, very informative - Now I can use the ADAT/toslink output from my universal audio Duo (which can't connect to my newer mac bc the universal audio uses 800 firewire. My Universal Audio 8 channel from 2012 can now be dusted off and used for 8 additional inputs on the SSL-12 interface! Awesome.
