Thanks Doug, very informative - Now I can use the ADAT/toslink output from my universal audio Duo (which can't connect to my newer mac bc the universal audio uses 800 firewire. My Universal Audio 8 channel from 2012 can now be dusted off and used for 8 additional inputs on the SSL-12 interface! Awesome.

Excellent video. I've used ADAT before but without much understanding since the units were already connected before I got to them. Thanks bro!

I have 2 interfaces with spidif M Audio 2424s. Can these be linked to the SSl12? These are interfaces are windows 98 specific but if they would work that would be good Dug

Cool stuff! How do I clock with a Midas M32 and a mcDSP-16? I’m running a Midas M32 via usb expansion card. I can remove it and get a Worclock expansion card, but that would remove my usb to my laptop. So I’m confused there..

Really informative video!! So let me get this right!! If I had something like a black lion, audio modified, Digi 002 rack, I could use that as my clock, via adat, and get the extra inputs as well?? Or, essentially anything that has an adat out, and has better conversion can be used as the main converter, synced via adat?!! Essentially, allowing me to track and mix with the better conversion?! 😮

Yes, anything Adat. With avid stuff you may need to set it internal first from another system, I have an Avid 192 I/o running into it, but I needed to do routing on an old hd system first. But yes

I'm wanting to use Dante converters. But there are no Dante PCIe cards for Apple Silicon (Native) systems available yet. What do you recommend that I do?

Masterlink doesn't seem to have a toslink connection (from what I've found online so far).

Hey Doug, appreciate the video. I did have a question. If u run the SSL 12 via ADAT into, let’s say, a pure drive octo pre, wouldn’t I only have access to those inputs?

I currently purchased a used master bus portico and struggling w/ the connection so I was told I needed 1 DB25 to XLRF and another DB25 XLRM they are pricey specially the mogami. Is this the only way to go by this or are there other options as far as connectivity. Also if I want to hook up a summing box how to I do with the connections because it’s more complicated lol
