Comedy from years ago still rules as the true talent here shows. You had great script writers - the above 2 - Galton & Simpson - Jimmy Perry & David Croft. The list goes on. What do we have today? Nobody around with any talent that matches the afore mentioned.

These days everyone is ordering items like these and more online and getting the right part or piece of equipment almost every time. These two mixed comedy genius with timing very well, and Corbett's disbelief almost looks real! 😂🤣

The problem is though that “four candles” has overshadowed everything else that the two ronnies have done to such an extent that most people pretty much regard them as “one sketch wonders”. You ask 100 people on the street to name as many of their sketches as possible and I’d wager at least 90 of them could only think of this one sketch,it’s the same for the monty python team with the “dead parrot sketch”,they are regarded as one sketch wonders too by most people!

They were a great comedy team but let’s be honest they are a “one sketch wonder”. Ask 100 people on the street to name as many of their sketches as possible and I’d wager at least 90 of them could only say “four candles”.

This sketch will never grow old. It doesn't matter how many times I have watched it, it makes me laugh just as much every time. They both play an equally important roll in it. Just look at Ronnie Corbett's reactions and his muttering to himself. He reminds me of Charlie Hall - Laurel & Hardy's nemesis in so many of their films, and of course Ronnie Barker was a huge L & H fan. The bit at the end when it goes to The Two Ronnie's in the studio is very sad and poignant.

Let’s be honest though, they are basically a “one sketch wonder”. You ask 100 people on the street to name as many two Ronnie sketches as possible and I’d wager at least 90 of them could only say “four candles”. It’s the same story with monty python, most people only know them for the “dead parrot sketch”.
