At 105.39 you are mixing the medium in water for the glaze, how much water did you measure to the 1 millimeter of medium?
@PaintBasket7 күн бұрын
I didn't measure a specific amount of water. What is important is that subsequent layers have more oil than the previous

There are some advantages and limitations to this approach. It’s worth remembering that pigments are not ideal colors. They are products from nature or human manufacturing that resemble ideal colors as close as possible, and hopefully will last centuries and won’t poison us in the process. With that in mind, pigments won’t behave as ideal colors. The shift in hue of Alizarin Crimson exemplifies this. In addition, the placement of complementary colors is also up for debate. The Munsell system is pentagonal and doesn’t present purple as complementary to yellow or green as complementary to red. In addition, even if the best suited candidate for a complementary is selected, there are still hue shifts. This is why the Munsell system-an empirical model-serves better as reference to control hue as value and chroma change. Moreover, a limited palette also yields a limited color space. For example, magenta and dioxazine purple cannot be achieved through mixing these primaries and secondaries. They are out of range. If you were attempting to paint trompe l’œil-which requires continuity in color before and after the picture plane, this approach would fall short. Having mentioned these limitations, there are advantages. The most obvious one is simplicity. Too many choices can complicate things, especially for the unskilled. Also, from a practical standpoint, it helps to know through practice the end result of color mixes. In addition, most real life scenes are not lit with neutral light, and we adapt through what is known as “color constancy.” A limited palette automatically restricts the gamut and creates a natural color grading effect that unites colors. For the inexperienced artist (and even for the experienced artist), this approach makes it easier to achieve color harmony by confining color space to a reduced gamut. However, ideally the artist should control the outcomes and not the medium. Having a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of a limited gamut frees the artist to take advantage and push color to the limit.

they last a fairly long time and if the point does blunt out, you can just cut off the edge of the paper and make a new one.

OK I know it’s probably innocent but …… this sounds like a very sick comedy sketch. Listening to what sounds a White South African discussing “BLACKs” and saying “BLIX” so often. It sounds like a chapter from Tom Sharpes book Riotous Assembly where Konstable Els the junior S.A police officer is told that we don’t call the coloured people “BLACKS” (BLIX in SA dialect) now, it’s not allowed. So Els sets of using the word black in every other way as many times as he can to prove a point. Having lived through Apartheid I can’t but help feel a touch uncomfortable watching this video. Perhaps as they say anybody can find offence in anything these days . After all I did read and re read both Riotous Assembly and the follow up book Indecent Exposure, both are very very funny and very very anti apartheid. Gosh Nelson Mandela must be spinning like a turbine shaft in his grave. Oh by the way in case I am wrong may I offer a huge apology to the presenter. The content was interesting as far as I could watch it with out thinking of Konstable Els
