I followed the directions on my new tank and guess what… caswell is peeling after 1 year grrrrr

Fuel tank liner is one of the worst products invented. it "CAN" work well, but large majority of home hackers, fail to apply it perfectly, and eventually it starts coming off in chunks, or creates a goo... both of which play hell with filters and petcocks. Ask me how i know. 😑

So, there's no need to remove the alignment pin in the camshaft ?? My rotor keeps slipping. It's like my rotor has the incorrect taper, or the rotor is hitting the alignment pin. I can see 1 narrow "witness mark" on the rotor where it's grabbing the cam taper. It's not grabbing the entire taper. I had to shorten the rotor bolt that came with my kit because it was too long. It wasn't allowing the rotor to fully seat. I'm having all sorts of issues! 😂 Although, I bought the cheaper Sparx ignition kit.

So awesome! Love your story and authenticity! I’ve had the pleasure of attending 3 of your Getdowns and what a great time, they increasingly grew into a crazy large gathering of what the hell just happened! Also have been to your Brunswick OH shop and purchased several items over the years, great service and an awesome shop. You guys Rock, thanks for keeping it real and humble! I never liked the posing and attitudes at some of the other runs I went on outside of Lowbrow. Keep on keeping it real!Much respect, Numquam Cede…

I can’t believe people put this shit in tanks. When did this become a thing? Unless you have some old crappy vintage tank, full of pinholes, that you can’t fix or replace , it’s totally unnecessary. If it’s bad inside, clean the rust using the age old methods, put a clear filter in the line and watch for the rust build up. Guaranteed this rubbish will cause more grief later on than rust.

Agreed! If you think the old tank is good, gi rent or borrow an inspection camera, usually intnded for cylinder inspections. You can rent from the local auto store if you dont have friends with one. Use your noggin. If it looks sketchy in there, seal it! If it looks pretty darn good, don't, you'll regret it. If it's a bit of surface rust, throw in some stainless steel nuts and some seafoam, or marvel and swirl it. Dont shake it. Rinse with some dishsoap and heat dry.

As long as the sealer was applied properly, it won't hurt it... Though, eventually that sealer will come off, and will clog your filter/petcock... Just be aware, in the event you start having fuel starvation issues. (could be 10 years, could be never)
@girthquake96556 күн бұрын
I was told the liner is great until it's not. Once it starts to deteriorating, it's a nightmare to remove. So, I've never sealed my tanks. Rusty tanks, I pour vinegar in and let it set for a couple of days. Rinse out with baking soda and dry. Spray WD-40 in so it doesn't flash rust.

I'm guessing with the remote solenoid button, the starter relay and all related wiring for the exciter can be removed? Just wanting to confirm before I go el choppo on the wires

Thx for posting this. I’ve never dealt with/ inner tubes and currently fitting new tires on my bike and I’m conflicted about inner tubes w/ two lock nuts. These Bridgestone tubes have two nuts and a conical washer. Most of what I’ve read says the washer sits against the rim and the two washers are outside and lock together. Can u offer some insight ?

So question on the types of oils, does that change based on year and model? I got a 2015 super low 1200T and when I called the Harley dealership they told me it needed to have 3 oils changed, unsure if they are trying to scam me or charge me extra for something I don’t know about?

Vegetable oil is approved by the tire manufacturers association as a tire lube and won't rust your wheels. When you're putting the second bead on hold the tire with your knees so it doesn't pop back off.
