Thank you for the demo. I wasn't sure if that woodgrain panel should come off first, or not. Your video kept me from prying on that! I did have one other screw I didn't see you take off: down in the hole in front of the handle, there was a big phillips.

I did this same job and replaced all the cooling components minus the heater hoses which I probably should have done. My transmission cooler was not mounted near as perfectly though lol. My truck had an additional transmission cooler installed in front of both the radiator and transmission cooler which added to the confusion on all the cooling lines.

The painted headers are painted with simple paint to prevent rusting before installation. They should be stripped and painted with header paint or powder coated first, but almost never are.

A set of Porter glass packs would be a real nice addition. You would still have all the noise you wanted at full throttle but at cruising speeds it would take some of the snap out of it.

U still have a choke cool never use them got a w250 with a nasty 360 paid more in building the motor than did for the truck headers with purple horny mufflers and 2.5 inch straight pipes it's in winter storage and only comes out to play on the pipe line trails fuel mileage is about 5-7mpg burns premium with to cans of octane booster I piss everyone off when I fire it up at 4am to go to work sounds good shorten up the exhaust to where it exists in front of the rear tires and put in an xpipe for better exhaust scavenging

@Bray912 жыл бұрын
The problem I had was the filler neck was rusted and leaking, the other issue was I had to pump gas very slowly because the fuel wouldn't go into the tank fast and shut the pump off constantly. I found out the fuel filler neck vent hose was kinked between the frame and bed of the truck. Works great now.

What I would do if I were you. Borrow a compression tester or get one at harbor freight. Do a compression test. If your results are low compression your probably looking at a valve job at least. If your compression is high you could be looking at a ring job or overhaul. If your uncomfortable with any of this take it to a reputable mechanic & they will tell you what’s going on. This is not a job for BEGINNERS!!! If you have no prior experience with this take it to someone who does!!! You will save money & TONS of grief in the long run.
