There is no future for Pitcairn since there are no more children there. And in view of the sex and rape scandals WHO would want to go there and raise children, especially girls, there ? The last young girl who lived there had to have someone with her at school to ensure she was safe from men. Unfortunately there is no future without children, and no parents in the right mind will go there and raise children there.

I find it hard to believe the pied piper killed 130 children and not one of them got away. This is one of the saddest stories I've ever heard, bcs it's purportedly true.😑😒 Only God knows the truth of it. If so, He'll deal with that man.

Excellent resume of Dec 1989 Romanian Revolution, i would like to add that a mass protest led to the revolution in Timisoara on the 20t Dec and then in Bucharest where in 22 Dec the Army and the Securitate evacuated the comunist leader Ceausescu from Central Comitee and took the power with a planned orchestrated hit, 5000 people were shot or injured and 1200 died betwen 16-31 Dec 1989...Romania changed the Comunist regime just theoretically...but in reality most of old regime leaders were put in charge after 1990 and Securitate (the secret police) become SRI (Romanian Information Service) who took Ceausescu's millions of dollars and open private businesses...but the regular people struggled for years and years while the elite of the old regime were living in luxury and were pardoned by the new neo-comunist leader Iliescu who now after 35 years from the revolution is accused of genocide and manipulating the power after 22 Dec 1989...Romanian Revolution of 1989 was planned carefully before and just needer a mass protest who led to a revolution which was stolen by the neo-comunists leaders in colaboration with the army and secret police. Eternal glory to the heroes who went out those nights and believed in a change and were shot with cold blood by the regime's forces...the heroes will always be remembered and will never die!

Living in Belgium I've met a lot of romanians. Some of them said that was better before under Causescu's regime, others said that its better now. Anyway, I guess it was not good under Causescu, but the one good thing was that he left Romania without debts... Wish you all the best our Romanian neighbours and brothers! Greetings from a Serb! 😊

Honestly, Bulgaria was close to a violent revolution similar to Romania - the communist aparatus did replace the long-standing leader Todor Zhivkov on 10 November 1989, but in reality they were on borrowed time. There's a phrase uttered by Zhivkov's successor - Petar Mladenov, "The tanks had better come" during a pro-democracy protest in December 1989 (several days before the start of Ceaușescu's downfall in Romania), implying that he's ready to use military force to crush the protest. Fortunately, it didn't end violently like in Romania and Bulgaria had its 'free' elections in 1990. The 1990's were not great times for Bulgaria with hyperinflation hitting hard (until the currency board which pegged the Bulgarian Lev to the Deutsche Mark and by extension - the Euro) and the communists hadn't really left - they rebranded themselves as socialists and were a major political player until the last few years where their numbers in the National Assembly really began to dwindle. Just recently, we've had our 7th general elections in the span of 3 years (2nd just this year alone, 3 if you count the elections for European Parliament in June) and after numerous failed attempts only yesterday the MP's elected a head of the assembly (essential for the parlaiment to work) - Natalia Kiselova of...the Bulgarian Socialist Party. Considering the bickering between the political parties I don't have high hopes for stable government to be formed. At least Romanians didn't have to go to the ballots for the n-th time to elect the parlaiment members. And since Romania and Bulgaria go hand-in-hand when it comes to European integration (both joining NATO in 2004, the EU in 2007 and are scheduled to join 100%, no questions asked the Schengen Area in January 2025) - IMO Romania is far more developed than here in Bulgaria. In the automotive industry for example Renault (through Dacia) and Ford have factories in Romania, while our last attempt was assembling CKD kits in Lovech for a Chinese automaker (there were plans for a Volkswagen plant some years ago, but it went nowhere).

Your explanation for the term inner is wrong. All the ruling lords of both inner and outer mongolia’s were decendents of chingis khaan. Some parts of todays inner Mongolian’s lords and kings collaborated with the manchurians in stablishing the Qing dynasty. Qing dynasty started out as a federation of manchurians and later to be inner Mongolians. So the term inner came to be

Actually Montreal is no longer the 2nd-largest francophone city in the world. Kinshasa, DRC, and Douala, Cameroun have surpassed Paris as the largest francophone cities in the world. Paris is now like number 4, and Montreal is somewhere like 6th or 7th francophone city.
