@LucasAnderson-lw6iz - You know nothing of even the quite recent past, it appears. The upload depicts the early 20th Century, a period when ordinary people struggled to get by, afflicted by low wages, typically poor housing and bad diets, plus unreliable (if at all) health care, etc. etc. etc. Not surprisingly, it took a toll on people, they aged prematurely and died younger than we would expect today. I remember reading a book about the working classes in 1920s London in which men in their thirties were described as middle-aged and their life-expectancy was only to their mid-fifties - at best.

@@Ted-Says Actually, it is entirely a misconception that people in the past had shorter lifespan than modern humans. People in the 1900 lived for 70-80 years because of invention of penicillin and improvements in Medical Science. Not only that but there are Literacy sources that suggest that people in the past lived for thousands of years. These literacy sources include Torah, Bible and Quran. Some rulers and emperors even reigned for over 50 years. Now people's lifespan and has decreased to just 50-60 years (maximum) and is still on decline.☝️🤓

Thanks for sharing this! It’s been stuck in my head since 1988! And I swear I heard a cover of it somewhere, maybe in another film or tv show… or did he ever re-record this when he was older? It’s such a catchy rhythm! Well, now I need to listen to the music from the one-man-band that also played in that movie which has also been stuck in my head ever since!

@OneOfManyOfOne - I'm glad you like it, it's a great tune and an entertaining movie overall. I am not aware of other artists recording the song, but Rufus certainly kept playing it during his early music career - there is a slow, bluesy version on the follow-up film to this, for instance, and there is a 'live" version you can find elsewhere, but the original is the best as far as I am concerned.

Sad to see the "final upload" declaration but glad Ted Says is going out with the type of movie that keeps me coming back for more. In short, "both are believable characters, made more so by their "standard" teenage boy looks and behaviour, not some Hollywood plastic concoction" is an essential quality for me.
