Beautiful melody plagiarized from a classical piece by Russian composer Georgy Sviridov.

The first time I played MGS1 was when I was sick in bed with covid in 2022. I was feverish, coming in and out of consciousness, but between the fever and sleep I played and finished this game. Now the soundtrack takes me back to that time. Cavern reminds me of lying in bed, alone, and feeling my interest for this game growing as I realise it's not just a military stealth game, but there's something mysterious going on as the music implies. And Enclosure made me cry the hardest I've ever cried becuase of a video game, and it still makes me tear up almost every time I hear it.

He/she has taken the time to upload it in the first place so be bloody grateful … do you hear snake moaning every time he has to re-enact the same cut scene for you over and over!

You know when your smoke detector goes off and then every now and then it will whistle? The Warhead Storage track has a whistle in it to that slighlty reminds me of it.

Just a brilliant soundtrack to create atmosphere. One of the greatest examples ever. RPG games like this are tricky because you can be in one area for like 20 minutes with a repeating track. The composer takes a simple theme or chord progression and draws it out over multiple tracks. Case in point "Encounter" is your established chord progression. "Warhead storage" slows it down and makes it much more epic with male choir. And "Escape" makes a thrilling, fast-paced track for all the marbles. Three different variations on the same theme, creating three very different reactions.
