Does the solar panel charge the battery while youre using it? Or do you have two batteries- one in use, one charging ? Great stuff thank you!

Would it work if you drilled holes on the boom, along the top edges, narrow sides vertically? Or would the wood cause interference? Would save considerable time and material. Thanks. Good video n

Most likely, you had CMC problem, which knocks out your audio. RF chokes plus top quality usb data cable will fix it

I learned method 2 working on the sound crew for our church. I use it with everything now: coax, extension cords, even garden hoses :-)

I do exactly the same but, I stay sitting in the back of the car. The radio (the same one) is resting on the front seat without the headrest. Well, instead of a dipole, I use an EFHW on the slope. Good video, best regards 👍

Fine activation and well made video! There´s nothing really "failed".....you still did the best you could with what was still possible. So - everything top. Thanks for the video - i´ve to try the next activation also with a NVIS-configuration...👍👍

Well done, Dom. It reminds me of similar trips I used to make into the mountains some 40 years ago, when I was a young man like you. I used a HW-7 with about 3 watts on CW. 73.

Seriously a teeny tiny little vertical when you have all those trees around you and spent all that effort on the shelter? Wire is cheap man, you could've easily gone full dipole for the 80 meter band there.

Is your radio 6 meter? I didn't think NVIS could work at a frequency that high? I am really new to this. Thanks for the video

Hi, thanks. No it's not. NVIS works best at 80-40m.
