Anyone know what type of guitar Howard is playing? I really like the tone! Also the great George Van Eps is an inspiration to me!

Wow. Folks out there love Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana but have zero interest in this. How is that possible?

Dave Stone on bass, what a humble, great guy. We spent an hour chatting and comparing notes about LA traffic one night after a warmup gig in Sacramento, memorable.

My two favorite musicians! (The 'second best Guitarplayer' in the world from Sweet and Lowdown, who actually is probably the best) and the amazing Anat who is my great role model clarinetist. Love it...

Ruby Braff and Roy Eldridge, forever! RIP men, you're now playing for our God. Diz and miles had their high points & were amazing, but nothing like Ruby, Roy, and never forget Hot Lips Page or Cootie Williams. I play trombone, but will forever love to hear a great trumpeter sing thru their horn, and that includes the current Shaye in Tuba Skinny and Andrea Motis.

Howard and Jake- two thirds of the GREATEST trio I have ever seen perform live- a trio with Harry Allen, Jake and Howard- a late night gig at the top of the Holiday Inn in Sacramento at the Jubilee, maybe 2009 or thereabouts. One hour of absolute smoking jazz, as tight as could be, nonstop, moving from one tune to another with absolute perfection and fire. I think I asked Harry or Howard why they never recorded together in a trio because they were so tight and in sync with each other. Howard and Peps have many recordings together, but not Howard and Harry,. Just bad timing for recording studio I can only presume.

Wow, another great one. Sweet and Lowdown soundtrack still the best guitar album ever, because of this master? Great new style in the latest video, dude. Always good to see people being free. The audio though was too poor to do your talent justice. Thanks for all the good taste and great recordings.

Howard, I have been a fan since I saw you play tenor banjo in Torrance at some theme mall on Hawthorne Blvd that I’m too old to remember (born 1948) I’ve gone out to see you years ago when you played John Pisano’s guitar night many years ago. Hope you are still doing well. I know Pisano is in his nineties. Is he still performing? Are still performing? I like your music as I have since the ‘70s

Rich! Wow, we do go way back.. The Old Towne Mall - they had an amazing collection of live music for a while. Jon Pisano is still playing now and then, I see occasional Facebook posts where he does something, although his regular guitar night is not taking place, I'm still traveling and playing here in Arizona, things are slowly starting to come back after being put on hold for a year and a half. Maybe I'll see you in LA again one of these days, All the best, Howard
