Anat is fantastic as a musician and as a person. Who had the opportunity to see her perfoming live knows how amazing is she on stage. So energic and charismatic. Thanks Israel for these great musicians! Also, Avishai cohen trumpet player and bassist!

Heard Anat Cohen on Fresh Air NPR, and could not stop taking notes and listening! Her understanding of Latin music tempo is impressive.

I saw this genius with Kurt Elling in Minneapolis last month. She is even more amazing in person. Thanks for posting!

This kind of reinforces a bias that's been hiding in my musical makeup for a long long time - the combination of clarinet and guitar for jazz! Two instruments that can be amazingly lean and agile, not a whole forest of notes, and both instruments can go from quiet and sweet to , cutting, ferocious tones. And if the two players are in sync musically, like Cohen and Alden seem to be, they can push each other to amazing heights. I want to hear more of this ins trumentation!

She is an amazing clarinet player. Great tone and wonderful bending of notes to give the piece a nice blues feeling.

My two favorite musicians! (The 'second best Guitarplayer' in the world from Sweet and Lowdown, who actually is probably the best) and the amazing Anat who is my great role model clarinetist. Love it...

John Geers: Should hear her now! I have recently - at Miller Theatre in New York. New York. She was smooth, rough at times, agile, intelligent, playful and sweet. Brazilian Jazz! Oh, girl, what a treat! Anat delivered "Organic Real Jazz" as would any Paquito D'Riviera, Victor Goines, Dr. Michael White or Don Byron. Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, George Lewis, John Carter, Woody Herman, Tony Scott, and even Sidney Bechet, would have been very proud of her - were they to have heard her effervescent exuberance.

I just read about Anat Cohen in the NYT. This is my introduction to her playing. She's everything the writer said = fabulous. As for the use/misuse of the word genius, many many musicians are talented, that's a given. To transcend mere mechanics and really make the music sing, well, I call it genius.

Hard to put into exact words, but Anat seems to project a beautiful mixture of expressive lyrically rich qualities. Sometimes, I think I hear a bit of Benny Goodman here, a little Artie Shaw there and some Pete Fountain bluesy qualities, but it's all her and I think I'm only covering a small part of her capabilities. Love listening to her. Try listening with your eyes closed.

Anat can play a mean Jazz tenor saxophone with Organic Real Jazz licks and well-placed altissimos to flavor. Wish that she plays much more tenor saxophone. It would be a pleasure to see her in "classical" Jazz Concert with Eddie Daniels - "father" and "daughter" on clarinets and tenor saxophones making harmonious music in one accord.

Sometimes I just don't get the symbolism of modern choreography. Maybe, like, jazz clears away industrial society's impediments to the natural life force. Yeah, that's it. But the music's good.

You should require a license before you use words like genius. Holy shit; talent does not equal genius. Maybe she is, but cool your damn horses.
