Does the VPT24 Timer when programmed override the light switch of the porch, for example, if the VPT24 is programmed to turn lights ON and OFF? Can I leave the light switch in the OFF position? If I leave the switch in the ON position, will the VPT24 timer still turn the lights OFF or like mentioned earlier, just leave the switch in the OFF position and the VPT24 controls the lights instead of the wall switch? I held down the two buttons like it said but also had to hold down menu to make it say rst

Difficult to interpret the various functions. Not user friendly at all.

This and the intermatic are the biggest piles of shit ever! Electrician for 19 years here. The one at my house won't work and now I've got a customer bitching me out because we installed two there and had three electricians program them three separate times.FUCK!

I dont mind having some functions in the switch but, my watch is much easier to program and it doesn't revert back to prior times like this switch.

This timer has been a disaster and actually has burnt my towels on a towel warmer. Nothing should be so complicated!

What is not really explained in the instruction sheet is that an 'Event' is a combination of a time to turn the lights on followed by a time to turn the lights off. A time can be a set time (e.g. 6:30 PM) OR SunUp OR SunDown. So only one 'Event' is needed to turn the lights on all night and off all day. When you create an event, you need to specify both times, in that order.

Whenever I press the reset ans set together I get the DEL option not the reset. Why is that?

CFL are not really dimable even the dimable ones - it's a technology "hack" as CFL needs a certain amount of energy going though them. Switch to (good quality) LED for something better. Hey you can even get LED that goes redder when dimmed just like incandescent bulbs if you prefer.
