Is this the “FNF Jelly 10” material? Most fritz is 15mm, including the Flybox Gelcore stuff I’ve done well on in the past. Id like to try the smaller 10mm stuff. Don’t see anything of that size in your link on Canadian Llama.

I have two Danvise Vises left out of 10 I bought to teach fly tying back about 20 plus years ago. I have 17 vises and believe it or not, my Danvise is still my favorite. I can change hooks very easily and without them slipping. A lot of my really expensive vises cannot offer that, as I have to fool around when I change hooks sizes. I don't see the bad rap at all and I tie an average of 5 to 6 hours a day and all of it is on my Danvise. It is easy to operate and I have one more left that has not been used as a back up. Too bad someone doesn't design a longer set of jaws that are good, not like the one that came out a few years ago. Great vise and the price is right. Ron C

@@BCFlyguys How do they become so available? Are the trout digging through the silt after them?
@BCFlyguys
@BCFlyguys 4 күн бұрын
The larvae live in the mud but move in and out to feed and when the pupate. Yes trout often root around in the mud after them.

Can you fish this pattern under a strike indicator in bigger rivers? Or is this strictly a stillwater pattern?

Can certainly be suspended on the river!

What type of leader do you use for the naked technique? Tapered mono to fluoro tippet or straight fluoro? Also don’t you need to keep moving the fly because putting the rod in a rod holder would allow the fly to sink to the bottom Excellent videos keep them coming
@BCFlyguys
@BCFlyguys 16 күн бұрын
Either/Or, but if just starting out one would probably find a tapered leader a bit easier to turn over. As for sink rate/time/retrieve please stay tuned as it's deserving of a bit more detailed than a short answer here could provide so we are working on a write up. In the meantime please check out: flyguys.net/fishing-information/still-water-fly-fishing/long-lining-chironomids :)
